To encourage safety and to help prevent drinking and driving, Washington Township, New Jersey has partnered with Uber to provide free rides home from select local bars and restaurants during late-night hours, every day of the week.
In towns that have similar programs, they have seen up to an 80% drop in DWI/DUI arrests. Uber looks forward to contributing to safety in the Washington Township.
“Our goal is to ensure the safety of every person who resides and visits our community. I truly believe with a program such as this, there is no excuse to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while under the influence.” —Mayor Joann Gattinelli
