Free rides home in Washington Township

March 14, 2018 / New York

To encourage safety and to help prevent drinking and driving, Washington Township, New Jersey has partnered with Uber to provide free rides home from select local bars and restaurants during late-night hours, every day of the week.

In towns that have similar programs, they have seen up to an 80% drop in DWI/DUI arrests. Uber looks forward to contributing to safety in the Washington Township.

“Our goal is to ensure the safety of every person who resides and visits our community. I truly believe with a program such as this, there is no excuse to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while under the influence.”Mayor Joann Gattinelli
