Our standard shared ride option. Save money by sharing your trip with 1–2 other riders headed in the same direction. It’s just like UberX, but easier on your wallet.
Route Share
With pickups every 20 minutes along busy corridors during weekday commute hours, Route Share offers savings of up to 50% compared to UberX—making it a budget-friendly way to get to and from work.
Scheduled Share
For those times when you want to book a ride in advance (up to 30 days!), choose a Scheduled Share. This door to door service offers even more savings than the standard version of Share by locking in your price ahead of time.

Shared rides are limited to one seat per rider. If you need more seats for you and your friends, consider an UberX.

- How many seats can I request on UberX Share?
You can only request one seat on UberX Share. If you're riding with a friend or a group of friends, please request UberX or UberXL.
- What happened to the price range and extra discounts when a co-rider joins?
UberX Share prices are now all upfront, to provide you more certainty and eliminate the guesswork from price ranges. Upfront prices are straightforward and exact. Instead of an estimated range, you’ll see the exact amount you’ll pay before you request a trip. You’ll still enjoy excellent savings by choosing UberX Share, and co-riders will continue to be a key part of the Share experience!
This is the price you'll pay unless the journey changes significantly. We use various factors to determine your price, including expected travel time, traffic patterns, distance, and surge pricing. Plus, our advanced modeling predicts your likelihood of being matched with a co-rider, allowing us to offer you even better savings. The final fare includes base rates, surge pricing, and any expected tolls and fees.
- How many co-riders will I be matched with?
At any given point during your trip, you may be sharing the trip with up to two other co-riders. If a co-rider is dropped off before you, it’s possible the app will search for another co-rider, but it’s designed to only look for people going your way.
- How long will it take to pick up other riders?
UberX Share is designed to add no more than 8 minutes to your trip (note: because of traffic and other possible delays, we cannot guarantee arrival times). You’ll always see your estimated arrival time in the app as you ride.
- I was picked up first. Why was I dropped off second?
Pickup and dropoff order is determined by where your destination falls along the route, rather than the order of who was picked up first.
- What if a co-rider take us out of the way?
The app matches you with riders going your way to help make sure any additional pickups won’t increase your estimated arrival time.
- Is there room for my luggage?
It depends on the space in the car and the number of riders. If you’re traveling with luggage, we recommend requesting an UberX ride instead of an UberX Share ride.
- Is Uber Pool no longer available?
Correct, Uber Pool is now UberX Share.
- How long will my driver wait for me at my pickup spot?
Your driver will only wait for 2 minutes at your pickup spot. After 2 minutes, your driver can cancel and collect a cancellation fee for their time.
