Before you accept any order, you’ll be able to see how much you’ll earn by delivering it. In addition, customers have the option to tip in-app, and 100% of tips are yours to keep.

With Instant Pay, you can cash out up to 6 times a day for a fee. If you prefer to receive your earnings weekly, they can be automatically transferred to your bank account.

With Uber, you can sign up to deliver food and packages, but it doesn’t stop there. Shop & Deliver allows you to earn by shopping for customers and delivering the order.

How food delivery driving works

If you’re new to earning with Uber, you’ll need to sign up to be a delivery person, consent to a screening, and upload the required documents and a photo. Once you’re notified that you are active, you can begin to receive delivery requests. The Driver app offers resources and will help you learn as you go.

Already a driver on the Uber platform?

You can start receiving delivery requests by going to the Driver app menu. Then select Account > Work Hub > Add "Food Delivery". Once you review and accept the delivery terms, you’ll be ready to deliver. You can turn delivery requests on and off as you wish.

When you’re ready to start being a delivery driver, you can go online in the Driver app. The app will show available food delivery requests near you. You can tap to accept.

The app provides suggested navigation and information from restaurants and your customers to help your deliveries run smoothly. If you need more assistance, you can contact Support in the app, too.

You'll see how much you'll make along with pickup and dropoff information and estimated time and distance before you accept a trip. These fares include base fare and any upfront tip that the customer may add while placing the order.

Here's what you need to start delivering with Uber Eats

There are many ways to deliver with Uber: with a car, a scooter, or a bicycle—or even on foot. Each way has different requirements.

What are the requirements to deliver with Uber?

Requirements vary depending on whether you’re driving a car or a scooter, or you’re biking or walking. When you sign up to deliver, you’ll be prompted about which documents are required based on your mode of transportation. Delivery drivers in the US must also pass a background screening.

How does Uber address safety?

Does my vehicle qualify?

Most 2-door and 4-door vehicles qualify for deliveries on Uber. You can also use a scooter or a bike, or even deliver on foot in some cities.

How much will I make?

Your total earnings come from base fare, promotions, and tips (you keep 100% of your tips).

How long does it take to sign up?

After you provide all the necessary information, activating your account generally takes from a few minutes to 48 hours, depending on documents and background check processing times. After everything is set, you’ll receive an email, then you'll be ready to hit the road.
