Deliver with confidence
Your safety on the road will always be a top priority, which is why we’re constantly investing in and developing new ways to help keep you safe. From in-app features to educational videos, we want to make sure you’re well informed about all safety features available for you while delivering.
Your safety drives us
Safety is designed into the experience. So you feel comfortable delivering at night. So you can tell loved ones where you’re going. And so you know you have someone to turn to if anything happens.*
Emergency assistance button
You can use the in-app Emergency Button to call authorities to get help if you need it. The app displays your location and trip details, meaning you can quickly share them with emergency services.
Follow My Delivery
You can share your live location with friends and family, right from the app. That way, someone you trust always knows where you are when you’re out on the road.
RideCheck
If your trip has gone unusually off-course, if it has stopped unexpectedly, or if a crash has occurred, RideCheck will immediately notify us. If flagged, we’ll check in to make sure everything is OK.
24/7 incident support
Uber customer associates trained in incident response are available around the clock.
Road safety education
In need of a refresher on road safety? We’ve partnered with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), the League of American Bicyclists and the Association for Safe International Road Travel (ASIRT) on a range of road safety efforts, including biking safety education.
Contact safety agent
You can connect with an ADT Safety Agent via phone call or text on every trip. Just tap the safety shield icon and select Contact safety agent.
2-wheel courier safety
To help keep bike couriers safe while riding, Uber offers bike-specific products.
Bike safety shop
Having the right gear before you get on the road is important for your safety. We’ve partnered with local distribution centers to make getting access to the equipment you need easier than ever.
Bike-friendly navigation
We know that navigating streets on a bike is different than in a car. That's why we offer bike-specific navigation to help keep you safe and to help you have the most up-to-date bike-friendly routes to get you from order pickup to dropoff.
Meet some of our partners
International Transport Workers’ Federation
Uber and the International Transport Workers’ Federation developed this global charter, which reinforces Uber’s support for couriers’ road, interpersonal, mental health, and occupational safety. It includes 12 principles, such as building safety features and partnering with others, that we strive to uphold.
Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety
Uber works with the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety on motorcycle safety efforts, including access to safe and affordable helmets.
Governors Highway Safety Association
We partner with GHSA on a range of road safety efforts, including occupant protection, bicycle delivery safety, driving safety education, and drunk-driving and drug-impaired-driving prevention.
The League of American Bicyclists
We partner with the League of American Bicyclists on a range of bicycle safety efforts. Together, we launched Bicycle Friendly Driver information to help drivers understand how to safely navigate the streets with people biking.
Strengthening our community
Uber’s Community Guidelines help build trust among delivery people, customers, and your favorite neighborhood merchants. Any person who doesn’t follow the guidelines may be at risk of being removed from the platform for the safety of the entire Uber community.
