Ideal candidates will have experience in the following skill sets: machine learning, applied AI, computer vision and perception systems, data systems, data mining and evaluation, simulation, validation, autonomy tooling, infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems.

AV Labs open roles

  • You will be an AI/ML engineer in AV Labs and involved in the development and implementation of the latest machine learning techniques for computer vision and perception use cases. Ideal candidates will be able to identify issues, provide solutions, and implement the fixes as well as set a high bar for technical excellence in all things we do. You’ll also collaborate with other engineers across networking, storage, compute, big data and cloud engineering to enable Uber’s mission of helping people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way.

  • You will be an AI/ML engineer in AV Labs and involved in the development and implementation of the latest machine learning techniques for computer vision and perception use cases. The ideal candidate will formulate research problems, design and evaluate novel modeling approaches, and influence the direction of large-scale autonomous systems through strong scientific judgment and execution. You will work cross-functionally with engineers from AV Labs and partner engineering teams which enables Uber’s mission of helping people go anywhere and get anything and earn their way.

  • You will be an ML engineer in AV Labs conducting autonomous vehicle modeling and research, with an emphasis on developing foundational and applied techniques that shape the future of autonomous driving. Abhinav is an experienced product leader with deep autonomy and embodied AI expertise. He has led product vision and definition from early-stage robotics research to consumer-facing AV deployment that translates cutting-edge technology into real-world impact.

Min Cai

Distinguished Engineer

Min leads data collection efforts for Level 4 AVs and Uber’s AI platform. His passion for AVs developed with his early work on Uber ATG’s AI infrastructure—from GPU clusters to distributed training systems. Over his 11+ years at Uber, Min also led numerous major platform engineering initiatives.
