Family Profiles
Setting up a Family profile keeps your loved ones covered when they’re on the go. It lets you pay for trips and get real-time location updates, all from a single app.
Why it's helpful
Register multiple accounts
Your babysitter. Your assistant. Your second cousin. Who you invite to join your Family profile is up to you—as long as they’re at least 18 years old and have an Uber account.
Keep your credit card details
Even though your loved ones can use Family profiles as their payment method, your credit card information is never revealed.
How it works for the Family profile organizer
Add contacts
Go to Account and select Settings in the app. Scroll down and tap Family. Tap Add member and select people from your contact list to send them an invitation to join your profile.
Please note: you must have the latest version of the app to set up a Family profile.
Have loved ones request rides
Once your invitee accepts, they can begin requesting rides from their own phone using the Family profile as their payment method.
Get billed automatically
The cost of the trip will be billed to the Family profile, and the organizer will receive a receipt for every ride.
To make sure your payment information is up to date, tap Default payment and add a credit card or choose one you already have on file.
How it works for the Family profile rider
Accept the Family profile invite
Open the email invitation to the Family profile and accept.
Please note: you must have the latest version of the app to be a part of a Family profile.
Make it your default payment
Choose Family as your default payment method.
Join a Family profile and ride worry-free
Request a ride as you normally would, selecting Family as your payment option. If you want to pay for your own ride, just switch from Family to Personal under Payment options.

Down Small - Select Settings from your app menu.

- Scroll down to Profiles and tap the Family bar.
- Scroll to the bottom, and tap the family member you want to remove.
- Select Remove Family Member and confirm.
- How do I delete a Family profile?
Down Small - Select Settings from your app menu.
- Scroll down to Profiles and tap the Family bar.
- Scroll to the bottom, tap Delete profile, and confirm.
