American Express Gold Card Member benefit

In addition to the complimentary Eats Pass offer, Gold Card Members get up to $120 in Uber Cash annually ($10 each month) to use on Uber Eats orders or rides in the US.⁵

American Express Platinum Card Member benefit

Platinum Card Members get up to $200 in Uber Cash annually ($15 each month, plus a $20 bonus in December) to use on Uber Eats orders or rides in the US6, in addition to the complimentary Eats Pass offer for up to 12 months.

Join Eats Pass from your Uber Eats app. It's quick and easy.

Step 1

Open your Uber Eats app and add your eligible Amex Card to your account. Tap the Account icon in the bottom right corner, and select Eats Pass from the list.

You’ll see a signup screen with information about the Eats Pass offer, courtesy of American Express.

Step 3

Take a moment to review the Terms and Conditions, and tap Start Eats Pass. You’re now an Eats Pass member!

    1. Delete the Card from the Uber account that you don’t wish to receive the Amex Benefit from
    2. Add the Card as payment method on the Uber account where you do wish to receive the Amex Benefit. If the Card is already on this account, skip this step.
    3. Complete steps 1 and 2 by 12am ET on the 1st of the month. The Amex Benefit will switch accounts for the new month.
  • You can receive up to $200 in your Uber Cash balance annually by adding your American Express® Platinum Card as a payment method on your Uber account. The Amex Benefit is distributed to your Uber Cash balance in monthly increments of $15, plus a $20 bonus in December (for $35 total in December). Your Amex Benefit in Uber Cash can be used for Uber rides and Eats orders in the U.S. where Uber Cash is accepted.

  • You can receive up to $120 in your Uber Cash balance annually by adding your American Express® Gold Card as a payment method on your Uber account. The Amex Benefit is distributed to your Uber Cash balance in monthly increments of $10. Your Amex Benefit in Uber Cash can be used for Uber rides and Eats orders in the U.S. where Uber Cash is accepted.

  • When Uber Cash is turned on, the Amex Benefit will be automatically applied to the cost of your ride or basket. When your Amex Benefit isn’t enough to cover the cost of the ride or basket, the primary payment method on your account will be charged the difference.

  • Uber Rides

    1. After adding your destination, select your ride of choice
    2. Make sure you see Uber Cash listed above the confirmation button
    3. Tap on the confirmation button to request your ride

    Uber Eats

    1. Create an order in the Uber Eats app
    2. Select View Cart or Checkout
    3. Above the Place Order button, tap your current payment method
    4. Select Uber Cash on the Payment Options screen
    5. Return to the order screen and check that Uber Cash is the selected payment method
    6. Review your order and tap Place Order

    To find your Uber Cash balance, tap the menu icon in the top left corner of your app and select Payment.

  • Yes. Any unused Amex Benefit in Uber Cash will expire at the end of each month and will not roll over to the following month.

  • Enrollment is open until Dec 31, 2021 and the offer is available for up to 12 consecutive months from the date of your initial enrollment.

  • Basic Card Members with a Consumer American Express® Green Card, Consumer American Express® Gold Card and Consumer Platinum Card® are eligible to receive this offer.

  • You can cancel your complimentary Eats Pass at any time. If you would like to cancel your Uber Eats Pass subscription before the end of your 12-month complimentary period, you may do so within the Uber Eats app up to 24 hours prior to the start of your next Uber billing cycle to avoid further charges. You will still have access to Eats Pass until the end of your current Uber billing cycle.

    To cancel your Eats Pass, you must do so within the Uber Eats app:

    1. Tap the account icon in the bottom menu bar to access your account view Tap Eats Pass to open your Eats Pass hub
    2. In the hub, scroll down to find the Auto-Renew toggle and turn it to Off. A pop-up will appear asking if you want to turn auto-renew off.
    3. Tap Turn Off to confirm your cancellation
  • Yes, in your Uber Eats App, select the Eats Pass icon to enroll in the complimentary Uber Eats offer through American Express. Once enrolled, your complimentary Uber Eats Pass will begin at the start of your next Uber billing period.

  • Yes. Log in to the Uber Eats app. Go to Account > Wallet > Add an eligible Amex Card as your default payment method. From there, sign up for Eats Pass using the instructions above. After your Eats Pass is activated, you will be able to enjoy those benefits in both the Uber Eats or Postmates app.

  • To take advantage of the complimentary Eats Pass offer for American Express, you will first need to cancel your Postmates Unlimited membership. To cancel your membership, go to Account > Manage Unlimited Membership > Manage Plan > Cancel Membership. From there, log in to the Uber Eats app. Then go to Account > Wallet > Add an eligible Amex Card as your default payment method. Sign up for Eats Pass using the instructions above. After your Eats Pass is activated, you will be able to enjoy those benefits in both the Uber Eats or Postmates app.

  • When you add an eligible Amex Card to your Uber Wallet, you will begin enjoying an additional American Express benefit, where you automatically receive Uber Cash each month. You can use your Uber Cash in the Postmates, Uber Eats, and Uber apps.

⁵Basic Card Members on a Consumer U.S. American Express® Gold Card are eligible for $10 in Uber Cash each month ("Amex Benefit"), subject to these Terms and Conditions. To receive this benefit, you must have downloaded the latest version of the Uber App and your eligible American Express Gold Card must be a method of payment in your Uber account. The Amex Benefit may only be used in the United States. To be eligible for the Amex Benefit, your Card Account must not be canceled or past due. American Express reserves the right to suspend your eligibility for the Amex Benefit if we suspect any violation or abuse. To continue to receive the Amex Benefit, the details for your eligible Card must be kept up to date in your Uber Account. Cards added to your Uber account through a third party such as Apple Pay or PayPal will not be eligible. An eligible American Express Gold Card may receive the Amex Benefit on one Uber account. If the same Card is added to multiple Uber accounts, only the first Uber account to which the Card is added will receive the Amex Benefit. If you cancel or remove your eligible American Express Card from your Uber account, you will be unenrolled in the Amex Benefit and will need to update your card details in your Uber account to receive. It may take up to 24 hours for the Amex Benefit to become available in your Uber account after your eligible Card has been added to that account. The Amex Benefit is found within your Uber Cash balance. In order to use the Amex Benefit, Uber Cash must be turned on. If Uber Cash is turned on when you request a ride, Uber Cash will appear above the confirmation button. If Uber Cash does not appear above the confirmation button, tap on the current payment option and turn on Uber Cash. The Amex Benefit may be applied to all vehicle types with Uber, orders on Uber Eats and to any other services to which Uber permits Uber Cash to be applied. If your Uber Cash balance does not satisfy the cost of your ride or order, the primary payment method on your Uber account will be charged for the difference. The Amex Benefit will not apply to previous Uber transactions and cannot be used when paying with an UberFAMILY profile. New and existing Uber users are eligible. Uber will apply the Amex Benefit at the point of sale and it will be displayed on your emailed receipt. There is no limit to the number of transactions you may apply your Amex Benefit to each month, up to a total of $10 per month. Your monthly Amex Benefit expires at 11:59 PM Hawaii Standard Time on the last day of each calendar month. Unused balance in Uber Cash from your Amex Benefit will not carry over to the following month. Your Amex Benefit will be applied for the month in which the transaction is completed.
