How to sign up and link accounts

In order to link your accounts, you must have both an Uber and a British Airways Executive Club account. If you do not have either, you can easily sign up for free.

Step 1: Scan this QR Code on your phone

  • If you already have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to the settings page in the app.

  • If you do not have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to download the Uber app in the App Store or Play Store.

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the settings page

  • Scroll down to the Rewards section and tap British Airways Executive Club, then tap Link Account on the next screen.

Step 3: Link your account

  • Follow the instructions on the account-linking page. Now you’re ready to start collecting Avios with Uber.

Frequently asked questions

  • To collect Avios, you must have both a British Airways Executive Club and Uber account. If you do not have either, you can easily sign up for free.

    You will collect 1 Avios per £1 spent on the price of the of the qualifying ride, excluding tips and any miscellaneous fees such as cleaning charges.

    The Uber ride must be travel within the UK.

  • You must have linked your British Airways Executive Club and Uber accounts by following the steps outlined on this page above on the Uber app.

  • Only one Uber account can be linked to one British Airways Executive Club account and the accounts must be the same person. Accounts can be de-linked at any time, after which you will no longer be able to collect Avios. Only one de-link is permitted within a 12-month period.

  • You will receive a success message within the Uber app once you have linked.

  • Yes, each individual Executive Club Member can link to their Uber account. Only one British Airways Executive Club account can be linked to one Uber account.

  • You can collect Avios with any other Avios collection partner, visit BA.com for collection partners.

  • No, you can collect Avios on any qualifying trip taken within the UK. There is no minimum or maximum spend.

  • Your Avios will be awarded within 24 hours of completing your qualifying ride. Retrospective claims are not permitted, you must have linked your Uber account to your British Airways Executive Club account before taking the ride.

  • This could likely be that you are a British Airways Registered Customer rather than being a British Airways Executive Club Member. If you are a registered customer, you will not have an Executive Club account number, but you will have log in credentials for ba.com. When you sign in on ba.com and go to the “my account” section you will see an option to convert to an Executive Club account which will enable you to start collecting Avios.

    If you are missing Avios please allow 24 hours from taking the ride for them to be awarded. If you are still missing them after this time, please contact Uber, via the help section of the app, who will be able to investigate this.

    You must speak to Uber first as Uber can check that your accounts were linked, you have taken a qualifying ride, and that the time to award has passed. If the Avios are missing, Uber will raise a missing Avios request with British Airways and the Avios will be awarded within 14 days.

Collect Avios through Uber

  1. This Offer is jointly provided by (1) Uber London Limited (“Uber”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Aldgate Tower - First Floor, 2 Leman Street, E1 8FA, London; and (2) Avios Group (AGL) Limited (“AGL”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Waterside (Hea3) PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, United Kingdom UB7 0GB registered Company no. 02260073; and (3) British Airways PLC (“BA”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Waterside PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, United Kingdom UB7 0GB registered Company no. 01777777.

  2. To be eligible for this Offer, customers must be at least 18 years old, be a Member of the British Airways Executive Club (“BAEC”) and hold a valid Uber account (“Eligible Participants” or in the singular, an "Eligible Participant”).

  3. In order to verify eligibility for the Offer, we might require that an Eligible Participant provide us with proof of age and identity.

  4. To earn Avios, Eligible Participants must go to their Uber app and link their Uber account to their British Airways Executive Club account.

  5. To participate in this Offer Eligible Participants must confirm and accept these Terms and Conditions as well as British Airways' Scheme Terms and Conditions. For full details of the Scheme Terms and Conditions please visit ba.com.

  6. Only one Uber account can be linked to a British Airways Executive Club account and the holder of the accounts must be the same person.

  7. Standard Avios earn rate is 1 Avios per £1 of Qualifying Spend for rides booked and completed via the Uber app.

  8. Qualifying Spend is the upfront price of the ride, post any promotion or discount, and will include tolls, surcharges and fees. Exclusions to Qualifying Spend are tips and any miscellaneous fees such as cleaning fees.

  9. Avios earn rate applies to completed trips with a departure and destination within mainland UK (with the exception of Eurostar trips which must have a UK departure or UK arrival).

  10. Offer is valid for rides taken in mainland UK and Northern Ireland.

  11. Eligible Uber Ride categories are UberX, UberXL, Uber Assist, Uber Access, Uber Comfort, Uber Exec, Uber Lux, Uber Reserve, Uber Pet, Uber Green, Uber Boat, Lime e-bikes and scooters, Local Cab, Coach, Rail and Eurostar.

  12. Uber Reserve is only available in specific UK locations and Uber Ride categories, as follows – Greater London: UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec, Uber Lux, Manchester: UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec, South-West (incl Bristol and Bath): UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec, Birmingham: UberX, UberXL, Uber Comfort, Uber Exec, Leeds: UberX, Leicester: UberX, Merseyside (primarily Liverpool): UberX, Nottingham: UberX.   13. Validated Avios will be awarded within 24 hours of the completed Uber ride.

  14. Avios can only be applied to an Executive Club account once.

  15. This offer is non-transferable and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Avios related offer or Uber offer or promotion.

  16. Retrospective claims for Avios are not permitted.

  18. AGL, British Airways and Uber reserve the right to terminate an Eligible Participant’s participation in this Offer if they believe such Eligible Participant is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, or if their use is unauthorised, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful.

  19. British Airways, AGL and Uber reserve the right to withdraw this Offer or amend these Terms and Conditions, including Avios earn rates, without prior notice at any time, for whatever reason, and without any liability to Eligible Participants for doing so.

  22. By taking part in this Offer, Eligible Participants agree to the personal data they supply being used by AGL, British Airways and Uber or their agents or subcontractors for the sole purpose of administering this offer. Avios Group Limited reserve the right to withdraw the promotion or amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time, for whatever reason, and without any liability to customers for doing so.

  23. Insofar as is permitted by law, British Airways, AGL and Uber will not (and nor will our agents or distributors), in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate an Eligible Participant, accept any liability to and Eligible Participant (whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, punitive or consequential) for any loss, damage, personal injury or death arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Offer whether such liability arises from any claim based upon contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not we (or our affiliates) have been advised of the possibility of such loss, damage, personal injury or death. Statutory rights of Eligible Participants are not affected.

  25. This offer shall be governed by the laws of England & Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

  26. British Airways, AGL and Uber do not assume any responsibility for any typographical or other error in the administration of the Offer.

  27. British Airways, AGL and Uber collective decision regarding any aspect of the Offer is final and binding and we will not enter into correspondence with Eligible Participants (or their representatives) about it.
