How to sign up and link accounts

Step 1: You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member

If you aren’t a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, you can join for free today (saving $99.50).

Step 2: Scan this QR Code on your phone

  • If you already have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to the account-linking page in the app
  • If you don't have the Uber app, this QR code will lead you to download the Uber app in the App Store or on Google Play

Step 3: Open your account settings in the Uber app

Scroll down to the Rewards section and choose Qantas Frequent Flyer, then select Next on the next screen.

Step 4: Link your accounts

Follow the instructions on the account-linking page. Now you’re ready to start earning Qantas Points with Uber.

Frequently asked questions

  • If you can’t remember your password, it’s easy to reset it. First visit the link here or head to the login page and select ‘Forgot password?’ Enter your email address or mobile number associated with your Uber account and you’ll receive an email link or a text with a 4-digit code to reset your password.

    Tried that and still having trouble? You can contact us to recover your account directly through the Help site. We’ll need to verify some details to make sure that it’s you before we recover and reconnect you with your account.

  • You’ll be able to check whether your Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts are linked from either the Uber app or the Qantas app.

    From the Uber app, choose Account, then Settings. Scroll down to Rewards. Once your accounts are linked, you’ll see “Accounts linked” under the Qantas Frequent Flyer section.

    From the Qantas app, tab Book, then click on the ‘Earn points with our partners’ card. Under the Travel tab, Uber will appear as Linked if your accounts are successfully linked.

  • Qantas Points can only be earned on split fares where the eligible ride has been completed and any riders splitting the cost have already linked their Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts.

    If a member has not linked their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts before the trip, that member won’t earn Qantas Points on the cost.

    Qantas Points cannot be split between 2 or more members taking the same eligible ride if only one member pays for the ride. The member who has requested and paid for the ride will earn the points.

  • Qantas Points may be credited to your account within 24 hours after the trip is completed and paid for in full, but please allow a maximum of 6 weeks for this to occur.

  • If your Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts are linked and your points aren't appearing on your Qantas Points statement after you took an eligible Uber ride, please head to the Help section of the Uber app and we’ll be able to assist you.

  • Qantas Points cannot be used to book Uber rides in the Uber or Qantas apps. However, Uber gift cards may be available to purchase on the Qantas Marketplace using Qantas Points.

  • Please visit the Help section within the Uber app.

  • Please go to the Activity section of the Uber app, select the trip you need help with and scroll down to the Help section for assistance.

Terms and Conditions

*You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program to earn and redeem Qantas Points. To earn Qantas Points on eligible rides, members must link their Qantas Frequent Flyer and Uber accounts via qantas.com/uber, the Qantas App or via the Uber app, by choosing Account > Settings > Rewards, then request an eligible ride via the Qantas or Uber app and complete that ride. An eligible ride is an Uber ride excluding Uber Taxi and Uber Eats requested using the Uber or Qantas app to or from any of the following Australian airports: Adelaide, Avalon, Ballina/Byron Bay, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Devonport, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Mackay, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Toowoomba, Townsville. Qantas Points cannot be earned on cancelled or no-show trip requests. Linked members will earn: Uber Reserve: 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent when they book and complete an Uber Reserve trip to or from an eligible airport; or other Uber trips: 1 Qantas Point per $2 spent when they book and complete any other Uber trip to or from an eligible airport. Qantas Points can only be earned on split fares where an eligible ride has been completed and members have already linked their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts. If a member, regardless of whether they requested the Uber ride or not, has not linked their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts, then they will not earn Qantas Points. Qantas Points cannot be split between 2 or more members taking the same eligible ride if only one member pays for the ride. The member who has requested and paid for the ride will earn the points. If you are not a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, Uber customers can join for free here. Membership and Qantas Points are subject to the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. The following terms and conditions exist in addition to the Uber terms and conditions, which govern all rides or ride requests. Uber terms and conditions are available at uber.com/terms and govern all rides or ride requests. Qantas and Uber may change the number of Qantas Points earned or eligibility requirements from time to time. Qantas Points may be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 24 hours after the trip is completed and paid for in full, but please allow a maximum of 6 weeks for this to occur. The Uber app is a technology service to help connect riders and independent driver partners, and neither Uber nor Qantas are transport providers for rides requested or taken using the Qantas or Uber app.

**Qantas Frequent Flyer members that link their Frequent Flyer and Uber accounts via the Uber app, Qantas app or qantas.com/uber and subsequently requesting and complete their first ride within Australia through the Uber or Qantas app will earn 1,000 bonus Qantas Points. Each Qantas Frequent Flyer member can earn a maximum of 1,000 bonus Qantas Points under this offer. The offer cannot be combined with any other new rider offers.
