- How do I rent a car to drive with Uber?
To rent a car from one of our vehicle solutions partners to earn with Uber, you’ll first need to sign up to drive with Uber. Next, you can visit this site to see offers available in your city. Once you’ve selected the option that best suits your needs, reserve and pick up your rental car.
- How much does it cost to rent a car to drive with Uber?
Weekly Rentals start at $260/wk before tax, but total cost will vary depending on local tax and how long you want to keep the car.³ To find more information about pricing through one of our vehicle partners, go to this site.
- How much is the deposit or Start Fee to rent a car from a vehicle partner?
Deposit or Start fee varies by vehicle partner. When you rent with Hertz weekly, you’ll pay a refundable $200 security deposit. With Avis, no deposit is required when renting.
- Do I pay insurance when renting a car through a vehicle partner?
All rental offers available through Vehicle Marketplace come with insurance included. Some partners offer the option to purchase additional insurance.
- How does Uber’s program with rental-car partners work?
We launched our Vehicle Marketplace to help drivers without access to a qualifying car find an opportunity to earn with Uber. We’ve now partnered with Hertz, Avis, and others so that drivers can get a ready-to-go car with low commitment. Once you’ve identified the rental offer that best suits your needs, you’ll complete the booking directly with the vehicle partner. Afterward, return the car based on the vehicle partner’s instructions when it’s time.
- Can you lease or rent a car through Uber?
Leases are not offered through Vehicle Marketplace. Our Vehicle partner offerings have evolved to suit the needs of drivers. These vehicle partners in the US offer eligible drivers the opportunity to rent either by the hour, the week, or longer.
- Where can I rent a car through a vehicle partner?
Uber vehicle partners offer car rentals to drivers in most major cities across the US. Visit this site or our partnership pages to see if these vehicle partners have rental offers in your city.
- Is there a penalty for canceling my rental car?
Since your rental agreement will be directly with one of our vehicle partners, it’s best to contact the company you rent from directly to understand its cancellation policies.
- Can I use my own rental car to drive with Uber?
Drivers are only allowed to drive rental vehicles that are part of an approved partnership in order to earn with Uber. Driving an unapproved rental car may result in deactivation from the Uber platform. To see currently available and approved rental options through our vehicle partners, visit this site.
- What if approved rental options aren’t available in my area?
If you’re listed as an insured party on someone else's vehicle insurance plan and that car meets Uber’s vehicle requirements, you may use that vehicle to earn with Uber.
