Earn $210 after completing 200 rides in an EV every 30 days

Drivers of fully electric vehicles (EVs) are eligible for Uber’s Zero Emissions incentive and can earn an extra $210 after completing 200 eligible rides in an EV every 30 days through the end of 2024.¹

How the Zero Emissions incentive works

Incentive opportunity

  • Drivers of fully electric vehicles (EVs) can earn an extra $210 after completing 200 eligible rides in an EV every 30 days through the end of 2024.¹
  • This incentive has replaced the $1-per-EV-trip incentive.

Eligibility requirements

  • Only trips completed by drivers in a battery electric vehicle or fuel cell electric vehicle are eligible. Trips completed in a hybrid or plug-in hybrid vehicle are not eligible.
  • Only rides are eligible. Uber Eats, Uber Connect, and other delivery trips are not eligible.
  • This incentive can only be earned when 200 eligible rideshare rides in a fully electric vehicle are completed in a consecutive 30-day period. The 30-day period will be specified in the Uber app.
  • To find EVs to rent or purchase, visit Uber's Vehicle Marketplace.

Frequently asked questions

  • Drivers will see the incentive in the Opportunities section of their Driver app within approximately 24 hours, though sometimes longer, of taking their first trip in a fully electric vehicle.

  • Only rides completed by drivers in a fully electric vehicle are eligible to qualify toward the 200-trip requirement. Uber Eats, Uber Connect, and other delivery trips are not eligible and the ride must be completed. Canceled rides do not count.

  • Drivers can view their progress in the Opportunities section of Uber’s Driver app.

  • Drivers will receive the incentive every 30 days if they meet the incentive criteria during each 30-day period. In many cases, the incentive duration will not align with a calendar month. For example, if you take your first trip in an EV on April 15, you’ll have 30 days, from April 15 to May 14, to complete 200 trips.

  • Yes, all of a driver’s completed trips in a fully electric vehicle, regardless of which EV they occur in, will count toward the incentive. Each 30-day incentive period will continue even if drivers switch between EVs and will reset after 30 days.

  • Drivers will continue to see the incentive in the Opportunities section of their Driver app but trips will only count toward the incentive if they’re completed in an eligible EV. The incentive will continue to reset every 30 days.

  • Yes. EV drivers are eligible for the Zero Emissions incentive regardless of whether they own or rent an EV. To find EVs to rent or purchase, visit Uber’s Vehicle Marketplace.

  • Yes. The $1,000 cap only applies to the $1 incentive which ended on April 11. Eligible drivers with a fully electric vehicle can earn the $210 incentive by completing the requirements of the $210 incentive offer regardless of whether they reached the $1,000 cap for the $1 incentive.

¹The $210 Zero Emissions incentive will be available in the U.S. only starting on April 11, 2024 on or around 10 am local time (start time may vary based on location and other factors). The last day for a driver to be eligible to participate in the incentive is January 4, 2025 at 10am PT. Incentive payments will be added to a driver’s account after completing the incentive criteria. Offer only available to eligible rideshare drivers who provide zero-emission rides and otherwise meet the incentive criteria during their 30-day incentive period. Uber Eats, Uber Connect, and other delivery trips are not eligible. Canceled rides do not count. Only battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles are eligible. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles are not eligible. In cases where the vehicle information provided to Uber is not sufficient for determining whether the vehicle is an EV, the vehicle will not be eligible to receive the incentive. Drivers should become eligible for the incentive within approximately 24 hours of when they take their first trip in a zero-emission vehicle, though sometimes longer. 30 day periods will be unique to each eligible driver. Drivers are eligible for the $210 Zero Emissions incentive every 30 days. Specifically, drivers who complete at least 200 rides in an EV will receive the $210 incentive; drivers who take less than 200 EV rides will not receive the incentive. Drivers can earn a maximum of $210 per 30-day period. Uber reserves the right to (1) withhold or deduct payments in the event of error, suspected fraud, illegality, or violation of driver terms or these terms, (2) change the trip requirements, incentive payouts, or other offer details at any time and without notice, and (3) disqualify a vehicle at any time that does not meet the eligibility requirements.
