Drive with confidence
You deserve to be able to go wherever the opportunity is. Get there with support on the road and technology that helps protect you and those around you.
Masks are no longer required
Riders and drivers are not required to wear masks when using Uber. However, the CDC still recommends wearing a mask if you have certain personal risk factors and/or high transmission levels in your area.
Remember: many people still feel safer wearing a mask because of personal or family health situations, so please be respectful of their preferences. And if you ever feel uncomfortable, you can always cancel the trip.
Updating our no-front-seat policy
Riders are no longer required to sit in the back seat. However, to give you more space, we’re still asking that riders only use the front seat if it’s required because of the size of their group.
Thank you for helping take care of one another
We know the pandemic has been difficult. But you’ve continued to go the extra mile to help protect our communities—whether it’s wearing a mask, making space for one another, or helping people get the food they need. Thank you for that.
It’s still important to take safety precautions while driving and delivering. So make sure to roll down the windows for extra airflow, sanitize your hands before and after trips or deliveries, and always cover your cough or sneeze.
Your safety drives us
Safety is designed into the experience. So you feel comfortable driving at night. So you can tell loved ones where you’re going. And so you know you have someone to turn to if anything happens.¹
Emergency assistance button
You can use the in-app Emergency Button to call authorities to get help if you need it. The app displays your location and trip details, so you can quickly share them with emergency services.
24/7 incident support
Uber customer associates trained in incident response are available around the clock.
Follow My Ride
Friends and family can follow your route and will know as soon as you arrive.
Your feedback matters. Low-rated trips are logged, and users may be removed to protect the Uber community.
If you need to contact your rider through the app, your phone number may stay private.
All Uber trips are tracked from start to finish, so there’s a record of your trip if something happens.
Using sensors and GPS data, RideCheck can help detect if a trip goes unusually off-course or a possible crash has occurred. If the app alerts us to such events, we’ll check in on you and offer resources to get help.
Contact Safety Agent
You can connect with an ADT Safety Agent via phone call or text on every trip. Just tap the safety shield icon and select Contact safety agent.
You’re insured on every trip with a rider
Each trip you drive on the Driver app is insured to protect you, your rider, and your vehicle.²
Liability for injury or damage to third parties for at least $1,000,000 for a covered claim.
Uninsured or underinsured motorists coverage and/or first-party injury protection coverage.³
Your car, whether an accident was your fault or not, is covered up to the cash value of your vehicle subject to a $2,500 deductible.⁴
Auto insurance to help protect you
Leading auto insurance providers—like Farmers®, Liberty Mutual, and Progressive—help protect you and your riders if anything happens.
An option to help protect you and your family
Optional Injury Protection insurance is offered through our partner Aon.⁵ For less than 3 cents per mile, this supplemental insurance helps to minimize the financial impact a covered accident can have on you and your family.⁶
Safer roads for everyone, thanks to you
You play a key role in helping to make cities safer and roads friendlier places to move around.
Staying focused while driving
The app reminds you that you’re driving within the posted speed limit and to take healthy breaks, so you’re alert behind the wheel.
Local laws and advice from law enforcement officials offer ways you can help make a big difference in your safety and that of the people around you.
Strengthening our community
Uber’s Community Guidelines help riders and drivers enjoy a stress-free ride. Any person who doesn’t follow the guidelines may be at risk of being removed from the platform for the safety of the entire Uber community.
