Third party mechanics and inspection locations may still be open and offering inspection services. You can call a local facility to see if they are open.

To use the Driver app, go to a Greenlight Hub, or find an inspection center to schedule an annual vehicle inspection. Inspection requirements vary by city—get the details about Sacramento below.
Activate your vehicle
In Sacramento, all drivers must pass a vehicle inspection at an Uber Greenlight location before taking their first trip. This takes less than 30 minutes. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection.
Annual vehicle inspections
1. Download an inspection form
California law requires people driving with Uber to inspect their vehicle every year or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Most inspection centers have forms available, but you may want to bring one just in case.
2. Find an inspection center
Uber has joined forces with YourMechanic for annual inspections completed at a Greenlight location. Otherwise, you can schedule an inspection with a facility licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection.
