Vehicle inspections
Find an inspection center where you can schedule an annual vehicle inspection and activate your vehicle. Inspection requirements vary by city—get the details about Fresno below.
Activate your vehicle
In Fresno, all drivers using Uber must pass a vehicle inspection before taking their first trip. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection.
Annual vehicle inspections
1. Download an inspection form
California law requires people driving with Uber to inspect their vehicle every year or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Most inspection centers have forms available, but you may want to bring one just in case.
2. Find an inspection center
Uber partners with YourMechanic for annual inspections completed at a Greenlight location. Otherwise, schedule an inspection with a facility licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection. All inspections stop 15 minutes prior to the close of the Greenlight location.
3. Upload the completed form
Once you pass, upload the form and receipt to your account. Uber does not cover repairs or maintenance to pass an inspection.
