Here's what you need to start delivering with Uber Eats

There are many ways to deliver with Uber: with a car, a scooter, or a bicycle—or even on foot. Each way has different requirements.

With a car

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a 2-door or 4-door vehicle
  • Have a valid driver’s license in your name
  • Have a Social Security number for a background screening

With a motorbike

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license in your name
  • Have a Social Security number for a background screening

With a bike or on foot

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a government-issued ID
  • Have a Social Security number and other personal information for a background screening

Upfront fares

Before you accept any order, you’ll be able to see how much you’ll earn by delivering it. In addition, customers have the option to tip in-app, and 100% of tips are yours to keep.

Get paid quickly

With Instant Pay, you can cash out up to 6 times a day for a fee. If you prefer to receive your earnings weekly, they can be automatically transferred to your bank account.

With Uber, you can sign up to deliver food and packages, but it doesn’t stop there. Shop & Deliver allows you to earn by shopping for customers and delivering the order.

  • Requirements vary depending on whether you’re driving a car or a scooter, or you’re biking or walking. When you sign up to deliver, you’ll be prompted about which documents are required based on your mode of transportation. Delivery drivers in the US must also pass a background screening.

  • Most 2-door and 4-door vehicles qualify for deliveries on Uber. You can also use a scooter or a bike, or even deliver on foot in some cities.

  • Your total earnings come from base fare, promotions, and tips (you keep 100% of your tips).

    • After you provide all the necessary information, activating your account generally takes from a few minutes to 48 hours, depending on documents and background check processing times. After everything is set, you’ll receive an email, then you'll be ready to hit the road.
