Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) serves as the primary airport for Washington, DC, transporting more than 21 million passengers annually. Located 5 miles (8 kilometers) from downtown Washington, it is the closest commercial airport to the US capital. The airport is a 15-minute drive from DC’s city center in ideal road and traffic conditions.

Getting around DCA Airport

DCA Airport’s shuttle service transports passengers between the terminals; the parking lot; and the rental car center. Destination information can be found on the front and side of the shuttle buses. The DCA Airport shuttle bus service operates 24 hours a day.

DCA Airport hosts an arts program, showcasing regional, national, and international rotating exhibits. A gallery walk, located in Historical Terminal 1 between the Historic Lobby and the present-day ticketing lobby, includes case displays and wall displays by artists from the local area. Additionally, the airport hosts musicians, singers, dancers, and other artists. DCA Airport features a number of shops and boutiques, ranging from newsstands to clothing stores.
