What is insufficient licensing history?

To drive with Uber, you must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and have at least one year of licensed driving experience in the US (3 years if you are giving rides and under age 25).

If your current driver’s license was issued within the last year, we may need to ask you for additional documentation to help verify that you meet this requirement. This is a common issue for anyone who has recently moved or replaced a driver’s license, and we’re here to help.

Follow the step-by-step instructions below and reach out to us if you're feeling stuck.

How to verify your driving history

The easiest way to verify your driving history is by submitting a photo of your previous US driver’s license. If you no longer have your previous US driver’s license, that’s OK. You can submit official driving record documents issued by your DMV. We have compiled a list of approved documents by state, so you know exactly what you need to request.
