Military Bases
Instructions for drivers
San Antonio is lucky to be home to many military bases around the city, including Lackland Air Force Base, Camp Bullis, Fort Sam Houston, and Randolph. Find out more information about pickups and dropoffs at bases around San Antonio
Pickup tips for drivers
At Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB, and Medina Base, we’ve enabled a new feature that allows riders to pick their entry gate when requesting a ride. When you accept the request, you will be directed to the entry gate that the rider has selected to avoid having to go on base.
Our goal is to improve pickups at every military base in San Antonio. Driver and rider feedback, as well trip quality data, will help us create a smoother pickup experience at bases around the city.
Requests from military bases
Military base access is restricted. If you have a Department of Defense ID, make sure you carry it with you, as you may be permitted access to drop off riders at the security personnel’s discretion.
We want to hear from you
The more information you provide about your experience, the easier it will be to improve the pickup experience for drivers in San Antonio.

We’re here to connect anyone, anywhere with a safe, reliable, and affordable ride – a ride that is also comfortable and convenient. In San Antonio, we believe that means helping riders take a trip with a driver who speaks their native language.
UberESPAÑOL, which connects Spanish-speaking riders to Spanish-speaking drivers, is the same price and has the same vehicle requirements as uberX.
One of our top uberESPAÑOL drivers in San Antonio, Gerardo, says that “uberESPAÑOL is a great way to connect with visitors from out of the country who may need directions or restaurant recommendations during their stay. Riders feel welcome knowing they have a driver they can communicate with during their visit to San Antonio.”
