Get peace of mind while you drive

Optional Injury Protection insurance is designed to help provide people driving or delivering with Uber with peace of mind in case the unexpected happens. We believe that drivers deserve the opportunity to be protected if they’re in an accident and are unable to drive or deliver—and are therefore unable to make money—or have to pay for medical expenses.

Pioneering protections for you

For less than $0.03 a mile, Optional Injury Protection, through Affinity Insurance Services Inc., helps minimize the financial impact a covered accident could have on a driver or delivery person. Pioneered by Uber, this insurance offering is designed specifically for drivers.

Meaningful benefits

For injuries covered through this optional insurance, there are several important benefits, including:

Disability payments

Earnings replacement up to a maximum of $500 per week

Medical expenses

Accident medical expenses up to a maximum of $1,000,000 with no deductible or copay

Survivor benefits

Up to a maximum of $150,000 for your family

“After the accident, Optional Injury Protection actually paid me for the time off while I was going through therapy, and it allowed me to be a mother, it released a lot of fear. It was so delightful to know that I don't have to deal with the financial part, I just need to do what I need to do to get well. So I just show up, get well, and now I’m back driving. It made me whole again.”
