Uber is no longer offering in-person support in Daly City, CA. You can get help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the Driver app by tapping Help, then choosing a topic to see answers to frequently asked questions.
To make sure we’re doing our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we’re switching to an appointment-only model for select Greenlight locations. Drivers and delivery people are required to schedule an appointment in advance if they want to visit a Greenlight location.
Walk-ins are only permitted for drivers and delivery people with an offer in the COVID-19 hub in the Driver app to pick up masks or other health and safety supplies, or who need to pick up a trade dress. If you have an offer to receive masks or other health and safety supplies, please arrive during distribution hours.
To use the Driver app, go to a Greenlight Hub or find an inspection center to schedule an annual vehicle inspection. Inspection requirements vary by city—get the details about SF, Oakland, and the Bay Area below.
Activate your vehicle
In San Francisco, all drivers must pass a vehicle inspection at an Uber Greenlight location before taking their first trip. This takes less than 30 minutes. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection.
Annual vehicle inspections
1. Download an inspection form
California law requires people driving with Uber to inspect their vehicle every year or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Most inspection centers have forms available, but you may want to bring one just in case.
2. Find an inspection center
Uber has joined forces with YourMechanic for annual inspections completed at a Greenlight location. Otherwise, you can schedule an inspection with a facility licensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. Note that Uber does not cover the cost of an inspection. All inspections stop 15 minutes prior to the close of the Greenlight location.
