UBER REWARDS - PROGRAM TERMS (U.S.)
Effective Date: November 14, 2018
In order to participate as a Program Member (defined below) in the Program you must reside in the United States, and be 18 years of age or older with an Uber (Rider or Eater) account in good standing. You may only have one Program account ("Program Account") and may not share memberships or have multiple memberships. However, there may be more than one Program Member in a household. Memberships cannot be merged or transferred. During the initial phases of the Program, Uber may make the Program available on a rolling or staggered basis such that not all individuals will become eligible for the Program at the same time. By participating in this Program you are agreeing to these Program Terms. If you do not agree to these Program Terms, do not participate in the Program.
How to Earn Points
The Program includes two types of points. Rewards Points ("Rewards Points") are redeemable at certain thresholds for Uber Cash rewards or other potential rewards. Level Qualifying Points ("Level Qualifying Points") determine what benefit Level a Program Member belongs in. (Rewards Points and Level Qualifying Points, collectively "Points") Points have no cash value. Points are earned at the time an eligible ride or Uber Eats transaction is processed by Uber against your payment method for the transaction. Currently, Rewards Points and Level Qualifying Points are earned concurrently, however, in the future there may be some actions or other types of transactions that only accrue one type of Point. An eligible dollar spent may earn a different number of Points, depending on the type of trip or order as indicated in the chart below:
|1 Point Per Eligible Dollar||2 Points Per Eligible Dollar||3 Points Per Eligible Dollar|
|Pool||UberX and XL||Black|
|Express Pool||WAV / Assist||Black SUV|
Points may be earned on dollars spent on taxes, fees, tolls and surcharges included in the Rider price or Uber Eats order price. Points may be earned on eligible rides or orders purchased using Uber Cash, credits, or a subscription (or Ride Pass), and any eligible rides or orders purchased under an Uber For Business or Eats for Business account. The following Uber trip options are not eligible to earn Points in the Program: Taxi, bike rides, and scooter rides. Other types of trips may also be ineligible. Points may not be earned on dollars spent on tips to driver-partners or delivery-partners, the portion of an eligible trip or order covered by a promotion or paid by another Uber user(s), outside fees (e.g., cleaning, cancellation, lost item), or upfront purchases of Uber Cash, credits, or Transit or Ride Pass. Points may not be earned outside of the United States (e.g. trips or deliveries outside of the United States).
How To Redeem Rewards Points
When a minimum of 500 Rewards Points have been accrued by a Program Member, those 500 Rewards Points will become convertible to $5 in Uber Cash which may be used on future eligible rides and Uber Eats orders, in the United States only. Redemption may be subject to additional terms and conditions, such as restrictions on use. Once converted to Uber Cash, Rewards Points cannot be returned to your Program Account. The number of Rewards Points required to redeem Uber Cash may be modified by Uber at any time. Uber Cash redeemed from Points through the Program will not expire.Once Points are converted to Uber Cash, the resulting Uber Cash is subject to the Uber Cash Purchase Agreement.
Program Membership Levels and Windows
All participants in the Program are "Program Members." An Uber user may sign up for the Program in the Uber Rider app. By signing up, an Uber user becomes a Program Member. The Program offers four membership Levels based upon the number of Level Qualifying Points earned by a Program Member: Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ("Membership Levels"). Membership Levels correspond with different Program Membership Benefits. Each successive Level includes its own benefits as well as the benefits of the preceding Membership Levels.
Each Program Member may advance to the next Membership Level by accruing a minimum number of Points, described below, during a six month period (the "Earnings Window"). The Earnings Window for a given Program Member begins on the day that the individual becomes a Program Member. Once a new Membership Level is unlocked, a Program Member stays in that Membership Level for the remaining period of time left in the Earning Window plus the next six months (the "Benefits Window") following the end of the Earnings Window. Each six month Benefits Window also functions as the Earnings Window for the next six month period, such that six months after an individual becomes Program Member, the individual will always be in both an Earnings Window and Benefits Window simultaneously. Level Qualifying Points expire and reset to zero at the end of every six month Earnings Window.
|Membership Level||Minimum Point Accrual to Unlock Membership Level|
|Blue Members||0 Points. Default level Level for Program Members|
|Gold Members||500 Points or more (in six months)|
|Platinum Members||2500 Points or more (in six months)|
|Diamond Members||7500 Points or more (in six months).|
Program Membership Benefits
Benefits for Program Members are privileges granted to Program Members differentiated by Program Level ("Program Benefits"). Program Benefits are granted at the discretion of Uber, may change at any time, are not redeemable for Points and have no cash value. Benefit details, terms and limitations may be found in the Rewards Program Benefit Terms, which are hereby incorporated into these Program Terms. Benefits, once obtained, can only be utilized in the United States.
How To View Points Balances
Program Members can view their current Points balances, rewards, and benefits within the Uber Rewards Home, located in the settings of the Uber Rider App. If you think your Points balance is incorrect, you must report your issue before the end of the Earnings Window in which the Points were supposed to have been earned, using the "Help" section in the Uber App or by contacting Uber as noted in the Contact Us section below. If Uber agrees that a correction is needed, it may take up to four weeks. Failure to supply necessary documentation may result in an inability to award Points. For verification, you should retain all receipts and documentation until your Points are credited to your Program Account.
Rewards Points are non-transferrable and expire (if not converted to Uber Cash) in monthly batches on a rolling 12 month basis, such that, for example, all Rewards Points earned in the month of January of 2019 will expire on February 1, 2020 if not converted to Uber Cash. Level Qualifying Points are non-transferrable and expire at the end of each six month Earnings Window (defined above).
Participation in the Program is a privilege granted to Program Members, and as such can be suspended, revoked, or terminated at any time by us for any reason. If your Program membership is terminated, all Points associated with your Program Membership and any membership benefits will be forfeited immediately upon termination. If your Program membership is terminated due to fraudulent activity or noncompliance with these Program Terms, in addition to forfeiting all Points and membership benefits associated with your Program Membership immediately, you cannot participate in or rejoin the Program.
Program Changes and Termination
We reserve the right to change or terminate the Program, or any part thereof, at any time without notice and without further obligations to Program Members, including, but not limited to modifications which: a) govern how Points are earned on and after the date of change; or b) change the value of rewards. No Points will be earned or redeemed after the effective date of termination. Any and all changes and/or amendments to these Program Terms will become binding upon all members immediately.
Transfer of Rights
Uber's rights and obligations under the Program may be assigned or transferred by Uber to any other related or unrelated entity at any time, and performances shall be the responsibility of that entity.
Interpretation of Program Terms
All interpretations of these Program Terms will be at Uber's sole discretion and Uber's decisions will be final.
