Consumer Cash Payment Terms

These terms govern your use of cash payments for Uber Eats and are supplemental to and form part of Uber’s General Terms of Use. Cash payments are available in select cities.

When selecting cash as your payment method for a transaction, only cash will be accepted. Any gratuity you provide the courier must also be provided in cash. Neither Uber nor the courier can accept alternative payments once cash is selected and the order is placed. Couriers may not always carry change; if physical change is unavailable, any change due to you will be credited to your account as Uber Cash which you may only use for Uber purchases, subject to the applicable Uber Cash terms. Uber Cash issued as change does not expire, carries no maintenance or usage fees, is non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed or cashed out for physical currency, except as required by applicable law.

Your payment obligation to the Merchant is satisfied and extinguished solely to the extent of the cash amount actually received by the courier. You remain fully liable for any unpaid portion of the order total, and delivering a partial payment does not discharge your obligation to pay the remaining outstanding balance. If you do not pay the full amount due for a cash order, any unpaid balance ("arrears") will remain outstanding on your account. You may only repay your arrears by adding a digital payment method to your account and paying the outstanding balance; or paying the outstanding balance as part of your next Uber Eats order. If your outstanding arrears exceed a market-specific threshold, you may be prevented from placing new orders until your outstanding balance is repaid.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law or determined by Uber, refunds, appeasements, or other adjustments relating to cash orders will be issued as Uber Cash.

Uber reserves the right to establish maximum cash order values and frequency limits at any time. Orders exceeding these thresholds will require a digital payment method.

If there is an issue with your payment or the order, do not dispute it with the couriers; instead, contact Uber using the “Get Help” feature in the app. Your use of the Services is also governed by our Community Guidelines.
