How much can drivers make with Uber?
The money you make with Uber depends on when, where and how often you drive. Find out how your trip payments are calculated and learn about promotions, which can help increase your earnings in London, Manchester, Birmingham and other cities in the UK.
How earnings are calculated
You might be wondering how much you can make driving with Uber. The following factors help determine the amount you make for each trip.
Standard trip payment
You receive a payment for every completed trip.
Surge
Check the heat map in your app to find out when and where rider demand is high, so you can earn more on top of your standard trip payment.
Minimum trip earnings
Each city has a minimum amount that you’ll make for any trip. This makes sure your earnings reflect the effort you put in, even on short trips.
Cancellations
In most instances, you’ll receive a cancellation fee if a rider cancels a request.
Standard delivery fare
Before you confirm a trip, you'll be provided with upfront trip information. This includes the minimum earnings you'll receive, your pick-up and drop-off locations, the name and location of the restaurants and the total estimated time and distance from when you confirm a delivery request to when you drop off the order.
Once you have completed a trip, the trip details screen will give you a comprehensive breakdown of all your trip components. Any tips or tolls will be added or reimbursed after your trip and shown on the trip details screen.
For multiple orders
In addition to receiving the standard amounts for pick-up and distance, you make money for every drop-off.
