Vehicle inspections

Twin Cities

Both Minneapolis and St. Paul require all uberX/XL vehicles being used for ridesharing to have an annual vehicle inspection. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to help you through the process.

Local regulations

All partners on the uberX/XL platform must comply with the rules and requirements to operate in Minnesota. Failure to meet the requirements could result in a suspension of your account. Please review the requirements by clicking the link below.

Annual vehicle inspections

1

Find an approved inspection location

All inspections must be completed at a city-approved inspection site. We recommend calling ahead to schedule an appointment. Ask for the "Uber inspection." The cost of this inspection is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Note: If your vehicle is more than ten (10) years of age from the current model year, it must have less than 150,000 miles at the time of inspection to be approved on the Uber platform

2

Get your vehicle inspected

Arrive at your appointment location with your vehicle. All of the locations listed below have the inspection form, which means you do not need to bring the form with you. Make sure that the mechanic has checked the Pass/Fail. Please note that you must have a PASSED vehicle inspection form to partner with Uber.

Please be advised that each vehicle inspection site will charge the vehicle inspection fee, whether or not your vehicle passes.

3

Upload your passed inspection form

Upload in the Partner app from the account tab, at partners.uber.com or bring your inspection form to the Uber Greenlight Hub at 2055 Rice Street in Roseville to have it uploaded
