Behind the Wheel: #UberDads in Kentucky
This Father’s Day, Uber Kentucky went behind the wheel with some awesome #UberDads, who also happen to be hard-working Uber Partners. Read on to learn why Uber is the perfect fit for their busy, family-oriented lives.
Jim | Uber Partner, Dad of 1
Meet Jim: longtime Louisville resident, seasoned chef, husband, and father of a fifteen-year old son. Jim was initially attracted to Uber based on the professionalism and flexibility driving offered. After nearly a year of driving, Jim has found that Uber also enables him to meet and converse with an array of people (including Erick Flack and Chane Behanan!). His advice to other drivers is centered on providing a complete experience – “Treat people the way you want to be treated. This is the service industry, and each ride should be made comfortable. I provide cold bottled water, phone charges, and candies for my riders to make each ride feel special.”
When he’s not driving, Jim spends his time growing his catering business, working with his church, and playing music with his son, Josh. The duo particularly enjoys playing 70s and 80s music together. The Uber Kentucky team is excited that Jim is part of our community – and if you ever need delicious catering, be sure to drop him a line!
Fenta | Uber Partner, Dad of 2
Uber Kentucky is proud to introduce Fenta, an Uber partner originally from Ethiopia who now calls Louisville home. With two active teenage boys and a hectic class schedule, Fenta required work with flexibility and independence; he decided to try the Uber platform after speaking with friends who recommended driving. Now, Fenta has three full time positions: Dad, student, and Uber partner.
When he’s not studying or driving, Fenta enjoys spending time with his boys, swimming, and playing soccer. His favorite part of Uber is the flexibility to set his own schedule; he also loves the group of wonderfully diverse and pleasant Uber riders he interacts with on a regular basis. Uber has allowed him to see into the fabric of the community.
