Changing the Game on the Field – and on the Road

Only about 1 in 5 Uber drivers in the US are women. And in the broader professional driving industry, that number is even lower.

With Women Preferences now available for drivers across the U.S., Uber is launching Gamechangers, a new, social-first content series aimed at inspiring more women to consider getting behind the wheel.

Timed with Women’s History Month, the series shows driving with Uber in a new light by pairing elite female athletes with women drivers for candid conversations about confidence, independence, and carving out space in industries traditionally dominated by men.

Episode 1: Ilona x Bonita

The series kicks off with Olympic rugby medalist Ilona Maher and Bonita, a Florida-based Uber driver.  Together, they talk about redefining strength, financial independence, the power of women supporting women - whether on the field or on the road.

Additional episodes featuring Olympic gold medalists Alex Morgan and Jordan Chiles will roll out throughout March across Uber’s social channels.

Rideshare driver app interface displaying a city map with surge pricing zones, estimated wait times, and a current earnings total of $97.28. The map is color-coded with various time and bonus indicators, and the status bar at the bottom shows 'You're online.'

A Game-Changing Feature

Driving - from trucking to delivery to rideshare - has long been a male-dominated profession. Women Preferences was designed in response to feedback from women who wanted more choice and flexibility on the platform. This feature gives women drivers more control over how they earn.

Our goal: help women discover driving as a real earning option on their own terms.
