Only on Uber 2026: Built Around What Drivers and Couriers Asked For

Millions of drivers and couriers earn with Uber every month, and building the best platform for flexible work means constantly asking what would make that experience better. Only on Uber is where we bring many of those ideas to life, with new products and features shaped by what we hear from drivers and couriers.

The Uber Crew program is a big part of how that happens. This year, we kept up a steady cadence of sessions with drivers and couriers covering feedback that ranged from how features get designed to how policies are set, and we turned that input directly into what you’re seeing today.

This year's Only on Uber event, held today in Miami, unveiled our largest roadmap ever, with dozens of new updates built around four themes: making every drive and delivery day easier, making sure extra work can mean extra pay, recognizing and rewarding your effort, enhancing safety—all while bringing you even more ways to earn. Here's a look at what's new:

Making Every Day Easier: Smarter Tools for Every Delivery and Drive

For drivers and couriers, each day brings a string of small decisions: where to go, what to expect, how to plan around it. The updates below are designed to take the guesswork out of that routine.

AI Home Summary The home screen now uses AI to bring together and summarize more of what's happening around you: busy areas, nearby Boost+ opportunities, upcoming events, and more. Spend less time guessing and more time focused on where to go next.

Trip Guide Get the information you need for your next trip in one place. See pickup and dropoff details, a map preview, and estimated earnings all in one place, with no more switching between screens.

Community Map Updates Couriers can now add or correct entrance details when something looks off, helping the next courier find the right spot more easily. Coming soon, you'll also be able to add parking details.

Light-Guided Picking and Crowdsourced Shelf Hints For shoppers, finding the right item just got easier. Light-guided picking illuminates shelf labels as you shop, and crowdsourced shelf photos from other shoppers help you spot what you need. Both are now available at select stores near you.

Discover, Reminders, and a New Tracker Discover brings together promotions, reservations, airports, events, and more in one place, with reminders to help you execute your plan. And a new Tracker brings your earnings, Uber Pro status, and active Quests into one view, so you can see how each trip adds up.

Voice Assistant Soon, a new voice-enabled assistant in the Driver app will let you ask questions, send messages, and report navigation issues, all without having to tap through the app.

Fairer: Transparency, Protections, and Pay

Drivers and couriers have told us fairness comes down to specifics: whether a rating reflects something they could control, whether a tip stays intact, whether extra time on a trip means extra pay. This year's updates target exactly those specifics.

Metrics Fairness When circumstances outside your control affect your Satisfaction or Cancellation Rate, those metrics can now be reviewed and, when appropriate, adjusted.

Tip Protection, Now Easier to See When a customer reduces a tip, Uber covers the difference. Now you'll see a clear confirmation that your tip was protected, with the difference available in your Wallet right away.

More Clarity on Trip Changes When a rider adds a stop or updates their destination, you'll see the new dropoff and any fare change directly in the app. And if the updated destination is reasonably close to the original but would have resulted in a lower fare, your original upfront fare is still honored.

Delayed Ride Guarantee, Expanded Last year we introduced the Delayed Ride Guarantee so that eligible trips running longer than expected result in additional pay. This year, we're going further: on trips delayed by more than 15 minutes, we'll increase that additional payment even more.

Earning Sooner at Stops On trips with extra stops, wait-time fees will soon begin after one minute instead of two, expanding across more ride types, including UberX, Uber Comfort, Uber Black, Uber Green, and UberXL.

More Ways to Earn, More Ways to Be Rewarded

Top Shopper, Acceptance-Rate-Based Challenges, and Points Pass New program and rewards recognize our most reliable shoppers, give drivers priority access, limited-time challenges, and the ability to protect hard-earned Pro status when they take a break.

On-Site Tasks and Digital Tasks New ways to earn between trips or from your phone: from verifying store details in person to completing short audio, photo, and video tasks whenever it fits your schedule.

Shop & Deliver and Returns: Coming soon, shoppers can accept Shop & Deliver trips at local boutiques and specialty stores, and couriers in select markets will be able to pick up returns from customers and bring them back to the retailer, another flexible way to earn throughout the day.

Helping You Feel Safer: More Protection, More Control

Feeling safe on the road, and having resources, clarity, and support when something goes wrong, shapes how confident drivers and couriers feel about earning with Uber. This year's updates focus on giving them more control and stronger backup when they need it.

New Chat Protections We're introducing new ways to help prevent inappropriate conversations between riders and drivers. Our technology can detect a message in real time and prompt the rider to reconsider before it's sent. If an inappropriate message still comes through, drivers will be able to cancel the trip without it counting against their stats.

Messaging app flags a message for inappropriate language, prompting the user to rewrite it.
Access to Eligible Recordings If you use Record My Ride, and a safety incident is reported, we'll soon give drivers the ability to review eligible recordings when they're available—giving you more visibility so it doesn't feel like your word against somebody else's. To help protect privacy, access to recordings for situations involving serious incidents, trips with minors, or other sensitive situations are restricted.

Education in Report Hub We've added short, targeted lessons to Report Hub with practical guidance on respecting privacy, keeping interactions professional, and communicating respectfully, so drivers and couriers know what's expected.

Drivers and couriers shaped every update on this list, and that only happens because people keep showing up to Crew sessions and telling us what's working and what isn't.
