Uber Eats launches Returns
Skip the trip. Returns just got way easier.
Today, we’re launching a new returns feature in the Uber Eats app, making it easier than ever to send back items purchased on Uber Eats with a courier – without leaving home.
A first for the on-demand delivery industry, customers will now be able to send back eligible retail items purchased on Uber Eats and receive an instant* refund– just request a return in the Uber Eats app and a courier will come pick it up for a fee.
Whether you're in the middle of a home improvement project debating the right paint color or questioning which new wireless headphones to buy, shop confidently on Uber Eats knowing returns are simple, fast, and convenient.
- How it works: To get started, in your order history, just tap “Return an item”. Then, select the item and tell us why you’re returning it. As long as your item is eligible and fits the store’s return policy, you can proceed with the return. Just tap “Return with a courier” to finish.
- Instant* refund: Your refund is processed as soon as the courier has picked up your item.
- Return fee: You’ll pay a return fee, calculated based on the courier’s time and distance. Think of it as a small price for never having to find parking at the mall again.
At initial launch, returns with a courier in the Uber Eats app will be available at thousands of retail locations on Uber Eats throughout the US including, Best Buy, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Pet Food Express, Pacsun, and Petco – with plans to add even more retail partners.
And in case you'd rather return the item yourself, you always have the option to return to the store directly, at no cost to you.

*Uber initiates your refund when the courier picks up the item. Bank processing times vary, it may take several days for funds to appear in your account.
Courier returns available only to $20+ retail items purchased through Uber Eats, subject to the store's return policy available in the app. Fees apply.
