Reimagining with us
At Uber we're constantly reimagining the way the world moves. We love going after the big problems and seizing the opportunities that come with challenging work. This means we sometimes have to make trade-offs and deal with difficult decisions that must be made. But it also means that here you will have an incredible opportunity to learn and grow. We encourage you to learn by doing and drive the kind of growth that best fits you.
At Uber, you’ll find yourself surrounded by talented, empathetic people. Part of that comes from the dedication we all share to the communities we serve. We know what we do impacts real, living human beings with families and loved ones, and it drives every one of us to improve and perfect our craft. When you join Uber, you’re entrusted to do the right thing, to rise to the challenge of reimagining the way the world moves for the better, and to embrace the complex responsibility of creating a better world.
Our values aren’t just what we believe; they are the perspectives we embrace, the choices we make, and the actions we take. See how we put them into action and discover what they mean to you.
If we want to reimagine the way the world moves for the better, that includes making movement more inclusive. We believe that everyone should be empowered to move freely and safely. And we believe everyone should have the opportunity to get what they want and need when they want it. It’s a large task, but we are up for the challenge of fighting racism, championing for full equity, and making movement more accessible both on our platform and inside our company.
If we want to make movement more inclusive, we need to better reflect the communities we serve. At the same time, we know that if our culture doesn’t allow for this diversity to affect change in our products, then it’s just lip service. We have to deliver on this in your experience as an employee so you feel empowered to affect our culture, inform our evolution and to challenge the status quo. No matter where you come from, you’ll always be welcome here.
“Diversity and inclusion isn’t just about redesigning a single system or a process, but it’s also about giving people real developmental opportunities that change everyday behaviors and attitudes. With the right actions, diverse teams can become our single greatest asset because they are what drive innovation.”
What we give our go-getters
Doing your best work means being your best self. To help, we offer a wide range of benefits and perks, some that only Uber can, to support your health and wellbeing.
Health & Wellness
We want you to be happy and healthy in mind and body. We offer comprehensive healthcare, monthly wellbeing reimbursements, and assistance programs that connect you to resources.
Out of Office
We provide generous paid vacation, sick leave, local holidays, and voting days off. Every employee gets a four-week sabbatical after every 5 years of service.
You’ll never be asked to put work before family. With paid leave for parents, flexible work options, access to Cleo’s benefit program, and more, we make sure you’re able to take care of your family.
You’ll get Uber Ride and Eats credits every month, as well as on special occasions. Our offices always have meals and snacks available to everyone.
Actual benefit offerings may differ depending on your region and role. Uber credits are available only in regions where Uber operates.
Grow at Uber
There’s no better classroom than real-world experience. And in a classroom like Uber, where work moves at the speed of technology and the only constant is change, the lesson plan grows and evolves continuously—and so do you.
Where we work
We believe in the value that in-person collaboration and community builds, but providing flexible ways of working is just as important. That’s why our work approach is based on balancing flexibility, productivity and collaboration. Plus, every employee can work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.
- Half office time
Most employees spend at least half of their work time in the office, with Tuesday and Thursday as anchor days across the company where all non-remote employees work in-person.
- Fully remote options
We have flexibility for some employees to be fully remote, depending on their role and location.
In most locations Uber has returned to the office, but specific regional return to office dates are driven by local offices when capacity and city-wide mask mandates are lifted, whichever is later. Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. Our business exists in the real world, on the streets of thousands of cities, and it’s important we stay connected to the places we serve.
