Select your Trusted Contacts in the app and set up reminders to share trip details with the people you care about.
2-way Ratings
Your feedback matters. The two-way rating system keeps the Uber experience enjoyable and helps keep riders and drivers safe. Consistently low ratings can lead to suspension or deactivation.
GPS tracking
All Uber trips are tracked by GPS from start to finish, so you can follow your trip and see exactly where you’re going.
Anonymous communications
You can call or text the driver through the app from your device using phone number anonymisation technology, so you can share essential trip details without giving out personal information.
Driver Profile
Get to know your driver before you hop in their car. You can see their rating, how many trips they've completed, how long they've been driving, compliments from previous riders, and more.
On Trip Reporting
If you feel unsafe during a trip, you can report it to Uber straight away and discreetly. Someone from our Safety Team will get in touch within 24 hours to follow up on your report.
Verify Your Ride
An optional feature to receive a 4-digit PIN that you give to your driver verbally to help make sure you’re getting into the right vehicle. The driver can only start the trip in the app with the correct PIN.
Emergency Contacts
Create an emergency contact list in the Uber app. If there’s a serious incident and support can’t get in touch with you, they’ll contact your Emergency Contact.
Guest Rides
Request rides on behalf of a guest by entering the person's name and trip details directly in the Uber app. Once the trip is accepted, the app will display the guest's trip details to the driver for greater transparency.
Advanced Privacy
Take greater control of your data by heading to Uber’s Privacy Centre to understand and manage your data, and adjust your privacy settings.
Drivers must pass several checks
All prospective driver-partners must complete a criminal background check before being approved to accept ride requests through the Uber app.
Driver Hour Limits
To help make roads safer for everyone, Uber automatically logs drivers out of the app when they reach the consecutive driving hours limit. They must then take a decent break before they can drive again.
Speed Limit Warnings
The Speed Limit Alerts feature flashes visual reminders to help drivers stick to a safe speed.
Vehicle Inspection
To drive on the Uber platform, every vehicle must pass an independent annual inspection to confirm it's safe to drive.
