The holidays are just around the corner, and we know it’s going to be a busy time of the year for you. With weeks of gift shopping, good meals, and gatherings with loved ones ahead, now is the perfect time to put a little extra cash in your pocket. The evening before Thanksgiving is consistently one of the busiest days of the year in the Grand Rapids area, and we’re here to help you earn.

Check out the guide below for insider tips on how to make the most of your time on the road on Wednesday, November 23rd. Not sure when and where to drive? We’ve broken down the evening hotspots for you.

5pm-8pm

Expect demand to start picking up as folks wrap up work for the week, return from school, and arrive in the Grand Rapids for the weekend. During this time, rides will be spread out across the city as people from suburban and residential areas prepare to head Downtown. There’s a show at Van Andel Arena, so expect some additional Downtown demand leading up to the 7pm start time.

8pm-12am

Demand will start to increase even more towards Downtown as people head out for the evening to Grand Rapids restaurants and bars. The show at Van Andel will let out around 10pm, and demand is expected to spike downtown as concert-goers look to move to their next location.

12am-3am

Last year, demand peaked between 1am and 2am. These hours are likely to see the highest surge and the best earnings of the night. After midnight, we anticipate demand to be highly concentrated Downtown as passengers look for a safe, reliable way home. Thanks for helping Grand Rapids riders move around your city safely.

Final Tips

  • In busy areas like Downtown, lots of riders will be looking to get into Ubers. Be sure to confirm your passenger before beginning every trip.
  • Take breaks when you need them! Coffee shops, gas stations, and mall parking lots are great places to stop for a few minutes, relax, and get ready to hit the road again.
