Kansas Partner Spotlight
From our launch in Wichita to our expansion across 4 new cities in Kansas, we have partnered with a remarkable and diverse network of drivers who provide the safe, reliable rides Kansans have come to rely on. These driver partners are members of your communities — excited to have the opportunity to drive on the Uber platform, not only for the economic benefits, but also for the positive impact they bring their cities.
We are inspired every day by their stories and would like to take a minute to introduce you to the people who are driving Uber Kansas.

ANNETTE
City: Lawrence, KS
About Partner: Annette is a retired high school and college English teacher and mother of three. She loves meeting people, talking with them and most importantly — offering her help.
Annette’s first ride:
“My very first Uber passenger was such a delight. She is a PhD candidate studying creative writing. She was tired after a long day on campus and the demands are great at the end of a long semester. I told her that she was doing something important and creative and that this is a powerful way to make her mark on the world. She smiled and said, “You have no idea how much I needed to hear that today!” It was such a “win/win”. I know that all riders not going to want to engage and visit. I know that some will, though. It was really gratifying.”

SHERMAN
City: Manhattan, KS
About Partner: Sherman is a Scout Platoon Sergeant at Fort Riley. He has served in the United States Army for over 18 years.
What made you decide to drive with Uber?
“Manhattan also has a large population of soldiers. Having access to the affordable transportation Uber provides is a very valuable thing to the base. I figured, ‘Hey, I can earn some extra money and hopefully help somebody from getting behind the wheel when they shouldn’t.’”

JOSH
City: Lawrence, KS
About Partner: Josh is the proud father of an 8-month old baby boy. He and his wife of 10 years love to travel, and look forward to raising their family in Lawrence.
What does Uber mean to your community?
“Lawrence is such a great place for the intersection between art, technology and culture. I love how much of the city really embraces forward-thinking technology as well as the extremely diverse set of cultures and people. I’m really looking forward to seeing how more people in the community react to the service as word gets around. I hope that as an Uber partner, I can do my part to bring the community together in a new way.”
