#BehindTheWheel With Four Seattle Driver Partners
We’re honored to partner with more than 5,000 drivers in the Seattle area who use Uber to run their own small businesses and keep our city moving. Meet Zelalem, David, Bethelhem, and Syed, four amazing examples from the local driver partner community.
“People ask me for my story on a daily basis. I was telling a young lady about how I came here and why I left Ethiopia. When we got to the airport I noticed she was crying. She gave me a big hug and said she was very thankful that I told her my story because it changed her perspective. I came here from a refugee camp and this country has given me so much more than I could ever give back.” – Zelalem Meshesha, Uber driver partner since July 2011
“A while back I got a request from Carkeek Park at 11 pm. Two women called me, crying, ‘The park is closed, and we don’t know where we’re going or how we can get out of the park.’ When I got there I couldn’t get past the gate. So I parked my car and grabbed a flashlight and went down into the park and found them. It’s all about customer service. It’s about going above and beyond.” – David Tefferi, Uber driver partner since September 2012
“I have given over 3,000 rides in the past year. I was looking at my car the other day and thinking about how many people have gotten in and out. It’s fantastic. It’s a great way to interact with people in the city.” – Bethelhem Lebeneh, Uber driver partner since August 2014
“I am originally from Pakistan, and I moved here four years ago. I love Seattle, it’s so great. It’s clean and green and wonderful.” – Syed Ali, Uber driver partner since August 2013
