This Mother’s Day, Uber Houston wants to thank all of the amazing moms out there who demonstrate what it truly means to put family first. In particular, we’d like to acknowledge the moms who partner with us to ensure reliable rides for Houstonians every day of the week. Read on to learn more about Keyshia (pictured below on the left) and Dolontria (pictured right), two of the many women who are helping to improve transportation options in the Bayou City.

Mother's Day

Keyshia | Mom of 3

Each Mother’s Day, Keyshia looks forward to good barbecue and family time with her three kids – JáNet, Jarell, and Walter III. This special day gives her a chance to reminisce on her last 21 years as a mother, she says, and to appreciate “seeing my babies grow up over the years and accomplish things that maybe I didn’t when I was younger.” Lately, she has enjoyed watching her son, Walter III, play multiple sports as a fifteen-year-old high school student. Partnering with Uber gives Keyshia the freedom to choose when she drives so that she can always make it to her son’s track meets and football games. Her diligence demonstrates the lesson she wants her kids to learn, which is that they can be successful at anything with some focus and a lot of hard work. Happy Mother’s Day, Keyshia!

Dolontria | Mom of 1

“I so love this kid,” Dolontria says about her four-year-old daughter Keivah. Dolontria has a full-time job but the flexibility of Uber allows her to earn extra income on her own schedule while still spending as much time with Keivah as possible. Her proudest moment yet has been finding out that her daughter is graduating Salutatorian of her Pre-Kindergarten class. To Dolontria, motherhood means that “you are perfect in your little person’s eyes and it motivates you to be a better person, so you can live up to their expectation.” We couldn’t say it any better than that. Happy Mother’s Day, Dolontria!
