Behind the Wheel with Ahmed

We’re going Behind the Wheel With Ahmed, an entrepreneur who has been a partner-driver since Uber launched in Boston. He’s achieved a lot over the years, and now he’s nominated for a special award this week.

Over twenty years ago, Ahmed started a limo and black car transportation company, called Car Service Boston. At the time Boston didn’t have a black car service, so as any true entrepreneur would do, Ahmed sought after fulfilling a market need.

This year is the Fourth Annual Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, and Ahmed has been nominated for the Neighborhood Business category. He’s successfully grown Car Service Boston and owns a fleet of cars with a team of professional drivers. Ahmed was one of the first drivers we partnered with in Boston, and he continues to utilize the Uber platform for his business.

Sharp, driven, and an amiable demeanor, it’s no surprise he’s being recognized by the Immigrant Learning Center for his achievements. A man of many talents, he’s an assistant coach for a Somalian soccer team that travels around the nation playing in tournaments.

We’re proud to support his accomplishments, and had a sign crafted to hang in our office to honor how far he’s come. Ahmed is a long-time partner many of us call a friend. Best of luck to him at the ceremony tonight!
