Being a parent is demanding, especially during the back to school rush. Many of the folks who drive with Uber are going through this rush right now, so we decided to add some fun to the mix and celebrate our partners and their families as they get ready to head back to school.

This weekend, Bay Area Uber drivers and their families came together at Flood Park to enjoy some down time, filled with fun activities like arts and crafts, sports, and face painting.

Brian, an Uber driver-partner in San Jose and his wife, Linda, got to spend some family time with the Uber community. Even though their daughter London is not ready to head to school quite yet, Brian is grateful for the flexibility he has on the Uber platform to spend time with his growing family.

It is no wonder there are so many parents driving with Uber. In a recent survey of Uber’s driver-partners, 46% of partners have children under 18 living at home. And 85% of driver-partners cite flexibility as an important reason for partnering with Uber—so they can better balance their work and family priorities.

More and more, parents are discovering that driving with Uber is a way to contribute to family income without sacrificing time with their kids. We are proud to partner with this community of busy parents and to celebrate back to school time with a little fun.
