As families all over the country get ready to head back to school, the Uber LA team hosted some of the driver partners who are gearing up their families to do the same.

With a beachside picnic, games, face painting, and a raffle — drivers and their families had the opportunity to meet parents just like them who use the Uber platform as a way to earn a flexible income for themselves and their families.

Heading into the school-year, many parents face a common predicament: whether to sacrifice additional income and stay at home, or to work intense schedules and forgo time with their families. That is why we have seen more and more parents partner with Uber as a way to balance time with family with earning a living.

As a stay-at-home mom, Uber changed my life instantly, you wouldn’t believe it! After just one week I realized, ‘Wow, this is it!’ I am able to drive when it’s most convenient for me and also be home to take care of my sons.– Lois, uberX partner in Los Angeles

As a single mother of four daughters, one having a serious disease — Uber has made it possible for me to be there for them and make extra money to take care of all the hospital bills and doctors visits. I’m incredibly grateful to be driving with Uber– Lakeyshema, uberX partner in Long Beach

More and more, parents are discovering that driving with Uber is a way to contribute to family income and be there for their kids. They can transform a household asset — their car — into an earning opportunity that pays for mortgages, tuitions, and family vacations. And they can do it all on their own time, never missing an important moment with family. We are proud to be part of this community!
