Starting May 12, 2025, you’ll be able to utilize our new feature, PIN Dispatch at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Terminal 4, Zone D1 and Terminal 5, Level 1 of the Yellow Parking Garage for Uber Black rides. You will request a ride as normal but instead of matching to a driver, the app will provide a 6-digit PIN code to the Rider to give to Drivers. You will then go to Terminal 4 Zone D1 or Terminal 5, Level 1 of the Yellow Parking Garage to join the line. Follow all signs for the Black PIN line.
For Terminal 5, proceed to the AirTrain via the Skywalk on Level 4. Take the AirTrain and exit at Terminal 7. Follow signs for Ride App Pick Up to the Orange Lot. Request your ride once you have reached the Orange Lot Ride App Pick Up area.
For Terminal 7, follow signs for “Parking”, “Air Train” and “Ride App Pick Up”. Go to the Level 2 of the Orange Parking Garage by using the elevators in the Orange Parking Garage or by going to the Terminal 7 Departures level, exiting the terminal, and crossing the road to the Orange Lot.
Confirm your location
Select your terminal and JFK pickup location as specified by the app. Please note: this location may not always be at your nearest exit.
Your driver’s name, license plate, and car color will show in the app. Verify your ride before you get in. If you can’t find your driver, contact them through the app.
Curbside Black PIN: Give your PIN to the first available driver (outside of the vehicle). Once the driver inputs the PIN and taps “Start Trip” the match is complete. Make sure to verify vehicle and driver details before you get into the vehicle.

Top questions about JFK Airport pickup
- Where do I meet my driver for pickup?
Pickup locations may depend on the type of ride you request and the size of the airport. Follow the instructions in the app about where to meet your driver. You can also look for signs that point to designated rideshare app pickup zones or other ground transportation. Note: you may be required to take a shuttle or train/tram to get to your pickup location. If you can’t find your driver, contact them through the app.
- If my flight is late, will my Uber Reserve driver wait for me?
Your driver will be informed of any schedule changes to your flight. For UberX, Uber Comfort, and UberXL rides, meet your driver up to 45 minutes after your flight's arrival before late fees apply. For Uber Black, Uber Black SUV, Uber Premier, and Uber Premier SUV rides, meet your driver within 60 minutes. Learn more about Uber Reserve.
- How much will my Uber trip from JFK cost?
If you request an Uber trip for pickup from JFK Airport, the cost will depend on factors that include the type of ride you request, the estimated length and duration of the trip, tolls and city fees, and current demand for rides.
You can see an estimate of the price before you request by going here and entering your pickup spot and destination. Then when you request a ride, you’ll see your actual price in the app based on real-time factors. If you reserve a ride ahead of time, you’ll be shown the price up front and can lock it in. Unless there are changes in the trip’s route, duration, or distance, the price you get is the price you’ll pay.
- How many pieces of luggage will fit in the vehicle I request through Uber?
The luggage capacity varies by Uber ride type. For example, an UberX ride can usually hold 2 suitcases, while an UberXL ride can usually hold 3 suitcases. For the most guaranteed space, we recommend UberXXL, which features 3-row vehicles with trunk space. Luggage space in all other ride options is not guaranteed and depends on the number of passengers and the type of vehicle. We recommend confirming with your driver by contacting them through the app after you’re matched.
- How do I cancel my Uber reservation from JFK?
To cancel, go to your rides in the Activity section of the Uber app. You can cancel at no charge up to 60 minutes before your reservation pickup time. If you cancel after that, you’ll be charged a cancellation fee for the driver's time if they have already been confirmed.
- Are car seats available for rides from JFK Airport?
By law, small children are required to be in a car seat. Riders may provide their own car seat or select the Car Seat option when choosing a ride in the Uber app. Uber Car Seat is also available with Uber Reserve rides. Learn more about Uber Car Seat or get more information about our safety policies.
- Are pets or service animals allowed in rides with Uber to JFK Airport?
Service animals are allowed, and Uber drivers may not refuse a trip because of the presence of one. For pets, however, it’s recommended that you select the Uber Pet option when choosing your ride. Uber Pet is also available with Uber Reserve rides.
Otherwise, it’s up to the discretion of the driver; once a driver is matched, you can message them in the app to make sure. Get more information about our safety policies.

Please follow the steps outlined here so your driver can be informed of the lost item and our team can help you try to recover your possessions.
- How many people will fit in the vehicle I request?
Passenger capacity depends on the make and model of the vehicle and the amount of luggage. A typical UberX ride can usually hold 4 passengers; an UberXL ride can accommodate up to 7. For the most guaranteed room, we recommend UberXXL - 3-row vehicles with room for at least 6 passengers and additional trunk space.
If your group has only one Uber account available but needs multiple cars, you can try guest booking.
If you’re unsure of how much space is in the vehicle you request, we recommend contacting your driver through the app after you've been matched with a ride.
*Luggage space is not guaranteed and depends on the number of passengers in your ride and the type of vehicle. Once you’re matched with a driver, we recommend contacting them through the app to confirm.
