Steps to get a private hire licence
Step 1 - Visit Liverpool City Council
You must take along your right to work documents, such as your passport.
Liverpool City Council is located on the first floor in St John's Precinct.
Step 2 - Call Clinton Training to book One Stop training
Clinton Training offers comprehensive guidance for your Enhanced DBS, Medical Check, VRQ and Knowledge Test.
The course runs over 4 days to complete the aforementioned steps.
You can book the training by calling 0151 521 3232.
Step 3 - Submit Private Hire Application
You must take all documents and certificates to Liverpool City Council and submit your application in person.
Liverpool City Council is located on the first floor in St John's Precinct.
Step 4 - Collect Badge
Personal Checks will contact you when your licence is ready to collect, tell you how to book an appointment to pick it up and give you a list of the documents you will need to bring with you.
You will not be issued a licence if you fail to bring these documents with you.
