Supporting drivers with Partner Protection from Allianz

As part of a series of improvements to the way we support drivers, we’ve teamed up with Allianz, one of the world’s leading insurers, to provide coverage for drivers.

Drivers told us they enjoy choosing if, when and where to drive. But they also told us they want more security and peace of mind for any changes life throws at them.

Partner Protection gives drivers access to coverage including sickness, injury and maternity and paternity payments, giving them peace of mind, on and off the road.

Zohaib started driving with Uber over three years ago when he became a father and needed more flexibility. However, a recent back injury forced him to take a month off the road. He explains how Allianz Partner Protection helped him recover without falling into debt:

“Without Uber’s partnership with Allianz, I think I’d have had to borrow money to pay the bills or rushed myself back to work before I was ready. But with Allianz I didn’t have to put too much pressure on myself, I was able to recover without the stress.”

Paulo started driving with Uber so he could spend more time with his daughter. Allianz Partner Protection helped him manage his time and finances when his second child arrived:

“The Allianz cover was a massive help because it allowed me to work a little less, and spend a bit more time with my family and our new arrival, baby Leo. If this support wasn’t available, it would have been much harder for me – I’d have either been on the road and not able to help my wife at home, or I’d have been at home without any money coming in.”

Thanks to insurance from Allianz, drivers who partner with Uber are independent, but they’re not on their own.
