Straightaway Tire & Auto keeps fleet customers moving with Uber for Business

Straightaway Tire & Auto combines the relationship-driven service of a trusted local shop with the operational reliability of a national brand. Formed through the acquisition of 6 regional auto service businesses across the US, Straightaway is uniquely positioned to serve the needs of regional and national fleet managers who prize fast and friendly service at scale.

That service promise is central to Straightaway’s success: an unexpected repair can disrupt anyone’s day, but for a fleet manager, every hour of vehicle downtime can delay deliveries, disappoint customers, and put added pressure on teams working to keep the business on track.

“Our goal is to minimize disruption by servicing vehicles quickly and efficiently,” says Jordan Cozatt, Director of National Fleet Accounts at Straightaway Tire & Auto. “But we also need to make sure the customer is able to keep going with their day when they have to leave their vehicle in the shop.”

To help customers stay mobile while their vehicles are being serviced or repaired, Straightaway offers courtesy rides through Uber for Business.

Courtesy rides help customers get on with their day

Straightaway’s same-day or next-day service goal is one of the reasons fleet managers trust them to help get vehicles back on the road quickly. When a customer needs to leave a vehicle for service, Straightaway managers can arrange a ride with Uber to help them get where they need to go, whether that’s back to work or on to their next appointment.

With Uber Central, Straightaway service managers can request and track courtesy rides by entering pickup and drop-off locations. Straightaway primarily uses flexible rides, giving customers the freedom to request a ride when they are ready through the Uber app or a mobile web link sent by text.

That flexibility helps Straightaway turn an inconvenient repair into a more manageable day. “We do have wonderful, comfortable waiting areas with sodas and water and workstations with free Wi-Fi,” Cozatt says, “But if it’s going to be more than a short wait, most people would prefer to get on with their day.”

A program designed to scale across local service centres

Uber for Business gives Straightaway a structure that can scale across its growing footprint while still working for local teams. Each of Straightaway’s 94 locations has its own Uber for Business account, allowing managers to arrange customer rides quickly at the shop level. Those accounts roll up into a parent account, giving Cozatt visibility across regional brands and locations. “I can see all the rides and spending per location across all of the brands,” Cozatt says. “That’s critical to managing the program effectively.”

"The Uber team has been phenomenal to work with. They've helped walk us through every detail. They're always ready to answer questions."

Courtesy ride usage grew 6x in four months

Since Straightaway rolled out its Uber for Business courtesy ride program nationally, teams across the business have quickly embraced it, for fleet customers and also for any customer needing a courtesy ride while their vehicle is being serviced. From January to April 2026, Straightaway saw a 6x increase in courtesy rides requested across its locations, showing how quickly teams adopted the program and how valuable the option has become for customers who need to stay mobile while their vehicles are in the shop.

For Cozatt, that growth confirms what Straightaway was already hearing from customers. “The need for on-demand transportation is certainly there,” Cozatt says. “Our customers enjoy the convenience of Uber rides. It gives them a way to keep moving while their vehicle is being serviced.”

Scaling service without losing the local touch

Straightaway plans to keep growing its service centre footprint while preserving the local relationships and service standards delivered by its regional brands. Cozatt says the company expects to expand beyond its current 94 locations as the company continues to grow its national footprint.

As Straightaway scales, Uber for Business can help the company offer a consistent courtesy ride experience across more locations while giving local teams the flexibility to support customers in the moment.

For Cozatt, that growth remains grounded in people. “We really do pride ourselves on that family feel,” he says, “that attention to detail, that level of customer service at every shop is what earns our customer’s loyalty.” Courtesy rides with Uber for Business help Straightaway show they’ve thought beyond the vehicle to the person who depends on it.
