Benefits of Advantage Mode

Reliable trips keep your riders coming back to the Uber app. With that in mind, Advantage Mode offers higher earnings and more Exclusive ride requests to highly rated drivers who accept more often, cancel less, and get riders where they need to go safely.

When you’re in Advantage Mode, you’ll get more Exclusive ride requests² and earn 5% more per trip on UberX and other non-premium ride types than you would in Standard Mode.³

Qualify for Advantage Mode

When this program launches, you must meet the following requirements to be in Advantage Mode:

If you don’t meet the requirements, you’ll be in Standard Mode, where more of your ride requests will come through Trip Radar and you won’t earn the +5% Advantage Mode perk on eligible rides.

Depending on the stats listed above, you can move between Advantage Mode and Standard Mode. You can view your stats in your Profile Hub by going to the menu in the Driver app and clicking your profile picture.

Understand the difference between Advantage Mode and Standard Mode

Advantage Mode

• Earn 5% more per trip on UberX and other non-premium ride types compared to Standard Mode
• More Exclusive ride requests, sent directly to you, compared to Standard Mode
• Continued access to Trip Radar

Standard Mode

• Not eligible to earn 5% more per trip on UberX and other non-premium rides
• Fewer Exclusive ride requests than Advantage Mode
• More ride requests through Trip Radar than Advantage Mode

Driving Insights

You’ll need a Driving Insights score of 75 or more to qualify for Advantage Mode when it launches.

Powered by Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), experts in safe driving analytics, the new Driving Insights dashboard provides you with useful information about your driving, including an overall score and how it compares to other drivers in your area. This information can help you identify areas in which you may want to improve your driving.

This program is applicable in the following cities: Albuquerque, NM; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Birmingham, AL; Boise, ID; Central Atlantic Coast, FL; Charleston, SC; Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Columbia, SC; Columbus, OH; Connecticut; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; El Paso, TX; Fort Myers-Naples, FL; Grand Rapids, MI; Greenville, SC; Hampton Roads, VA; Harrisburg, PA; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Jacksonville, FL; Kansas City, KS/MO; Las Vegas, NV; Lehigh Valley, PA; Louisville, KY; Madison, WI; Memphis, TN; Miami, FL; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; Oklahoma City, OK; Omaha, NE; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Piedmont Triad, NC; Pittsburgh, PA; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Reno, NV; Rhode Island; Richmond, VA; Salt Lake City, UT; San Antonio, TX; Sarasota, FL; Savannah-Hilton Head, GA; St. Louis, MO; Tallahassee, FL; Tampa, FL; Tucson, AZ; Tulsa, OK; and Wilkes-Barre Scranton, PA. ¹Stated percentage of 20% is based on the median earnings per hour online of Advantage Mode drivers compared to the median earnings per hour online of Standard Mode drivers in Austin; Charlotte; Columbus; Kansas City, KS/MO; Miami; Nashville; Phoenix; and Tampa, between 7/15/24 and 1/19/25.

²The following ride types are not eligible for more Exclusive ride requests while in Advantage Mode: delivery trips (such as Uber Eats and Uber Connect), Taxi, UberX Share, Uber Wait & Save, Uber Black, Uber Black SUV, Uber Premier, Uber Premier SUV, Uber WAV and Uber Reserve.

³Available only to drivers taking eligible non-premium rides in Advantage Mode. Commute, delivery trips (such as Uber Eats and Uber Connect), Hourly, Taxi, Uber Black, Uber Black SUV, Uber Premier, and Uber Premier SUV trips are not eligible for 5% additional Advantage Mode earnings. Certain earnings such as Quest promotions, tips, wait time fees, cancel fees, tolls, and other third-party fees and operational expenses as stated on your receipt are not included in the calculation of 5% additional Advantage Mode earnings. Uber does not guarantee drivers will experience higher earnings than earnings received prior to the launch of Advantage Mode. Additional earnings while in Advantage Mode will be shown as a separate payout on the trip receipt and weekly earnings statement and is in comparison to eligible earnings that a driver in Standard Mode would earn for the same trip.
