Uber on! Team Michigan
Meet some of the partners who we surprised!
Mustang Sally – Detroit/Ann Arbor “You can’t give me a bad day,” says Mustang Sally, a Detroit/Ann Arbor partner of six months. Nine years ago, a powerline fell on Mustang Sally’s yellow cab and nearly cut her life short. She paid her medical bills by starting her own ride-service company. Since then, partnering with Uber has allowed Sally to keep a flexible schedule for her ongoing treatment and help her pay her medical bills. With more time and money earned with Uber, Mustang Sally is planning a 4,000 miles a bike ride across the country this April! Douglas McDowell – Detroit/Ann Arbor
Douglas has been driving part-time with Uber for over a year. He prides himself on providing great service and a clean uberX car for every ride. Before we surprised Douglas with the gift, he got out of his car in the freezing cold – while wearing a full snow suit – so he could stay warm and open the car door for his riders. We’re thankful for the little things partners like Douglas do for riders on a regular basis!
Kevin Van AmBurg – Detroit/Flint Kevin is married with four daughters. Before partnering with Uber, he struggled to make ends meet and pay his mortgage. Since starting with Uber six months ago, Kevin has caught up with his house payments, and he’s currently remodeling one of the bathrooms in his home! Kevin’s thankful he can earn a supplemental income partnering with Uber and spend more time with his family. Tamika Lang – Detroit/Ann Arbor Our team was lucky to catch Tamika on a cold, winter day – her spirited personality lit up the room! Tamika loves Uber because it’s a great way to earn extra money and meet fun, interesting people. For Tamika, Uber is a family affair – she and her husband both partner with Uber! Each week they have a friendly competition to see who can make more money providing rides. We thank Tamika and her husband for all of their hard work!
Mark Bobinski – Detroit
Mark’s son, who lives in San Francisco, encouraged him to try out Uber. Mark loves the flexibility with his schedule and the ability to earn a couple extra bucks in his free time. We’re glad we got to thank him for his dedication!
