Innovative ways to reach more people
Together we can help riders in every community move more freely with efficient, quality public transportation.
Discover how innovative cities are partnering with us
Adding supplemental services
Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) partnered with Uber for supplemental late-night services to ensure that residents can safely get where they need to go when traditional public transportation isn't running in a financially sustainable way.
Enhancing specialized transit
Providing accessible transportation options for people with disabilities and special needs is an essential part of what keeps a community connected. Cities work with us to develop new specialized transportation programs and enhance existing ones, like the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s RIDE program.
Using shared on-demand options
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) uses Uber Transit’s on-demand solution to implement GoLink, its shared service that feeds into fixed routes. This provides riders with more convenient ways to run errands or connect to DART trains and buses, while providing the agency cost savings.¹
Your transit in the Uber app
The complete transit trip
In select cities, riders can now see how to get to their destination using public transportation in the Uber app. Enter a destination to see the best transit options alongside Uber choices, such as real-time transit data, step-by-step directions (including transfers), delay notices, and walking directions.²
Use Uber to get to the station
In select cities, public transit riders can plan their trip to the train so that a driver using Uber picks them up at exactly the right moment to get to the train on time. The Uber app also provides walking directions and makes it easy to plan a trip across modes of transportation.²
Multimodal options
Riders experience a seamless first-mile transition with Uber and Transit, making it easy to plan a trip end to end with UberX and public transit.
Digital transit tickets
Riders in many cities can purchase and redeem transit tickets directly in the Uber app through our partnership with fare payments service Masabi.²
Visual Validation
When riders buy a transit ticket in the Uber app, they get the benefits of Visual Validation. This ticket feature allows your riders to show proof of purchase and fare activation touch-free, for a safer boarding experience.
