Safety and respect for all
Uber’s Community Guidelines
Our guidelines were developed to help make every experience feel safe, respectful, and positive.
Everyone who uses Uber’s platform is expected to follow the guidelines—that includes drivers, riders, delivery people, Uber Eats users, merchants, and businesses.
We update our guidelines regularly to help make sure everybody in the Uber community always feels safe and welcome.
Help keep one another safe
Our team works every day to help create safer experiences for everyone. That’s why these standards were written. You can also find guidelines here just for Uber Eats.
All are welcome
We believe everyone has the right to move freely and safely and to feel respected on our platform.
That’s why together with Paradigm, who are experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion, we’ve developed a guide inspired by Uber incident reports to help stop racism in its tracks. Join us in cultivating more positive, inclusive experiences every day.
The power of your choices
Millions of people have great experiences with Uber every day. These positive interactions help define who we are. Thank you for choosing to help make Uber a safe and welcoming community.
Your feedback matters
If something happens, whether it’s good or bad, we make it easy for you to tell us. Our team is continuously improving our standards and policies, and your feedback is important so that we can take appropriate action to keep our standards relevant as our technology evolves.
How to find help
If you want to report an incident, visit the Help Center or tap Help in the app so that our Support team can follow up. If you find yourself in immediate danger, alert your local authorities or emergency services before notifying Uber.
How ratings work
A high rating tells you that you’re doing great. If your rating is lower than the average in your city, we’ll let you know and may share information that may help you improve. If your rating is significantly below average, you could temporarily or permanently lose access to all or part of the Uber platform.
How our guidelines apply to you
Uber reviews all reports that our Customer Support team receives about potential violations of our Community Guidelines, and we may investigate through a specialized team. Your account may be put on hold until our review is complete. Failing to follow any one of our guidelines may result in the loss of access to all or part of the Uber platform.
Please note that drivers and delivery people are not agents or employees of Uber and do not have legal authority from Uber. They are independent third-party providers.
Please remember to comply with all applicable mask requirements and our Community Guidelines.
For all offers from our partners, drivers must have been cleared to drive with Uber and be active on the platform. Prices and discounts are subject to change or withdrawal at any time and without notice, and may be subject to other restrictions set by the partner. Please visit the partner’s website for a full description of the terms and conditions applicable to your rental, vehicle purchase, product, or service, including whether taxes, gas, and other applicable fees are included or excluded. Uber is not responsible for the products or services offered by other companies, or for the terms and conditions (including financial terms) under which those products and services are offered.
