Looking for self-driving taxis in Grapevine, TX?

Autonomous Uber rides are not yet available in Grapevine. Until they are, you can request a ride to get matched with a driver instead and get where you need to go.

At Uber, it's our mission to reimagine the way the world moves for the better—and it's clear that AVs (autonomous vehicles) will play a part. While we have not launched self-driving rides in every market, we imagine a future where AVs and human drivers seamlessly work together to make transportation safer and more reliable, affordable, and sustainable.

How self-driving Uber rides work

When Uber intends to launch self-driving rides in a market, the autonomous vehicle preference becomes available in the Uber app. After the launch, if you’ve already joined the interest list through this setting and you request a ride from an eligible location and for an eligible ride option (UberX, Uber Green, Uber Comfort, Uber Comfort Electric), you can be matched with a self-driving taxi or ride.

Follow these steps to find out if the interest list is available in Grapevine:

1. Make sure you’re using the most up-to-date version of the Uber app available in the App Store or Google Play

2. Open the app and select "Account" in the bottom right corner

3. Choose "Settings"

4. Scroll down to Ride Preferences and select "Autonomous vehicles"

5. Choose "Join interest list" to sign up

Opting in to the interest list means you’ll get alerts when driverless taxis are available in your area and you’ll be more likely to be matched with one. Not finding the AV ride preference? Check back later, as we’re always working to add new markets.
