Uber and MADD Working for a Safer Nevada

Across the country, ridesharing services like Uber are making our streets safer by reducing incidents of drinking and driving. Unfortunately, Nevadans have one less option when it comes to getting a safe ride home. Together, we can change that by bringing Uber back to Nevada!

In February, Uber announced a study conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) that reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices, and those choices are saving lives. In Seattle drunk-driving arrests decreased by 10%, and in California drunk-driving related crashes fell by 60 crashes per month among drivers under 30 in the markets where Uber operates.

We were thrilled to be joined by college students from the College of Southern Nevada and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) this week in Las Vegas to discuss the need for ridesharing in Nevada and the ways that bringing Uber back to Silver State will provide more options for safe rides home.

Uber and ridesharing services like it are reducing alcohol related incidents across the country, and the residents of Nevada deserve the same reliable choices to get home safely,” Kathleen Bienenstein, M.A., MADD, NV Program Coordinator.

More than 300,000 people drive drunk every day: more than the total population of Henderson. We are proud to work with MADD in Nevada and across the nation to make sure a safe, reliable ride is always within reach and where drunk driving crashes become a thing of the past.
