Uber and MADD Working for a Safer LA

Ridesharing services like Uber are helping make Los Angeles safer by offering reliable and affordable rides when we need them most.

This week, Uber announced a study conducted in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) that reveals that when empowered with more transportation options like Uber, people are making better choices, and those choices are saving lives. You can read more about the study here.

We were thrilled to join Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch Englander, Joshua Jahn, a MADD volunteer who lost his family to drunk-driving and students at CSUN this week to discuss this critical issue and pledge together not to drink and drive, but rather to #THINKANDRIDE.

To promote safe rides during the weekend of the Big Game, Uber will donate $1 to MADD for every trip taken between 12:00 and 9:00 PM when users enter the promo code ThinkAndRide.

More than 300,000 people drive drunk every day: enough to fill the Rose Bowl over three times. We are proud to work with MADD in Los Angeles and across the nation to make sure a safe, reliable ride is always within reach and where drunk driving crashes become a thing of the past.
