Nevada Gets #UberMADD
Uber and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are proud to launch our Nevada partnership this holiday weekend to fight drunk driving and invest in safer communities.
As part of our commitment to safe communities, Uber will donate $1 of every ride taken in Nevada to support MADD’s efforts to stop drunk driving, support victims and survivors of drunk driving crashes, and prevent underage drinking. All riders have to do is take a ride starting Thursday October 30 until Sunday November 9 and Uber will automatically donate a $1 to MADD.
During the last decade, over 1,171 deaths occurred in Nevada due to drunk driving. Last year alone, there were 5,217 DUI arrests just in Las Vegas. The highest number of fatalities and serious injuries due to impaired driving occur during holidays, which is especially important to note leading into Halloween and Nevada Day this coming weekend.
With Uber, you can rest assured that you can connect to a reliable, safe ride anytime, anywhere with just a tap of a button. This means you can leave your car at home and go out and celebrate safely. That’s how we’re helping to cut drunk driving rates by 10 percent in Seattle, and we’re proud to partner with MADD in making Nevada a safer place too.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Keep the car at home and use Uber! We’ll donate $1 to MADD for each ride.
- Spread the word and tell your friends about our partnership. (Don’t forget—if you ride with friends, fare splitting = fair splitting.)
America’s Silver State deserves to be platinum when it comes to traffic and community safety. So this holiday weekend and throughout next week, let’s commit not to drink and drive, and let’s spread the word: #UberMADD.
