Uber in Los Angeles

Helping Angelenos access opportunity, connect to their communities, and build a stronger future

Uber has become an integral part of the transportation network in Los Angeles. Powered by local drivers and couriers, the platform supports millions of trips each year, connecting people to the places, services, and opportunities that keep the city moving.

Angelenos are driving LA forward

For many drivers and couriers, Uber offers flexible earning opportunities that fit around caregiving responsibilities, school schedules, second jobs, and other commitments. In 2025, drivers and couriers helped people keep moving with millions of rides and deliveries across Los Angeles. Their earnings helped support their families and communities, with a significant portion of those earnings staying within the Los Angeles economy.

Uber drivers and couriers also showed up in moments of crisis, helping connect Angelenos with safety, shelter, and essential resources, including during the LA wildfire emergency of 2025.

Connecting Los Angeles with essential services

Uber offers more than a way to get from Point A to Point B; it serves as a critical travel option that helps Angelenos get where they need to go each day—to work and home, healthcare appointments, transit connections, and community support programs across the city.

Supporting accessible and connected transportation

Uber works alongside public transit partners to help close first- and last-mile transportation gaps. In coordination with LA Metro and the Metro Micro program, Uber is subsidizing up to $10 per ride to and from the LAX/Crenshaw K Line and Union Station during World Cup matches.

As an approved ride-hail partner in the LA Mobility Wallet program, Uber enables eligible low-income residents to use subsidized prepaid cards for on-demand rides, helping expand access to jobs, healthcare, transit, and other daily needs.

Supporting local communities

Uber partners with local nonprofits and community organizations that provide critical services and support to Angelenos across the city, including California Professional Firefighters, California Fire Foundation, COOP LA, East LA Women’s Shelter, LA Fireman’s Relief, The People Concern, and the LA Fire Department Foundation.

During the 2025 LA wildfire emergency, Uber supported impacted communities by providing ride vouchers to help evacuees reach shelters, assisting emergency personnel in transporting donated goods, and equipping firefighters with Uber Eats gift cards to distribute to displaced families. These efforts reflect the important role transportation access can play when communities most need support.

Investing in LA’s future

Uber is investing in cleaner transportation, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and long-term mobility solutions that support a more sustainable and resilient Los Angeles.

Uber has also enabled access to Evie charging-desert data to help inform public-sector planning and support more equitable charging infrastructure development across Los Angeles.

Beyond transportation infrastructure, Uber contributes millions of dollars annually in taxes and fees that help support local and state public services and infrastructure investments.

On our way to the 2028 Olympics

Uber is proud to help power some of the biggest moments in Los Angeles, and we’re looking forward to connecting visitors and communities across the city as the official rideshare and on-demand delivery partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA.

Mobility will play a critical role in bringing the Games to life. Uber will lead transportation strategy across more than 30 competition venues throughout California while contributing to city-wide mobility planning efforts in Los Angeles. And through Uber Eats, athletes and visitors will be able to order food delivery throughout the Olympic Village and at competition venues, making it easier to get meals during the Games.
